omg. My brother's wedding was this weekend too, and I'm glad I didn't read about yours before I went to mine. That sounds so, so awful, just one thing after another.
Oh my gosh, what a weekend! If it's any consolation, the pictures on Facebook made it look completely different than what happened! It looked like fun! And your dress/you looked fabulous!
Lol - friend texted me this morning to tell me that she and her husband were laughing at the pic my mom posted where my brother and I look pissed and the bride looks so happy. We weren't pissed - just looking at the photographer to tell us when to smile while my mom is taking secondhand pics with her phone!
Thanks everyone for the kind words. It's amazing what professional hair and makeup, along with a good pair of spanx, will do!
Wow you look amazing for 7 weeks pp. I was in a wedding last December and at the last minute the bride made me drive a bunch of the BMs to the salon so DH had to take the car seat out of the car in case he wanted to go anywhere with ds in ILs car. She felt he was taking too long so she left us aND drove off in her car and we had no clue where we were going. Anyways his only paci was in the car so DH had to drive to the salon to get it and the bride was all annoyed that DH had to stop by (mind u he didn't even come inside). Childless brides are tons of fun! Lol
Also, advice to everyone on MMM: when asked to be a bridesmaid and the parent of a child in the ceremony, SAY NO. You can only be reasonably expected to do one of the two things. I swear to god, being the MOH and mother of the flower girl in my sisters wedding last summer about out me over the edge.

Is there a recap of your brothers wedding somewhere?

Yikes, I'd have had a meltdown too, what a weekend! I got sweaty when I read the part about forgetting the dress, LOL. I did that once with theater tickets. We were on a bus on our way to New York, and I realized that FedEx had never delivered our tickets to wicked. Of course it was a weekend, and hard to get a hold of anyone. Turns out the FedEx guy left them under our doormat a week before, like completely under so we couldn't see them! Thankfully the ticketing office had eTicket's and just emailed me a copy. That was a potential $800 fuck up!

No - the weekend was beyond exhausting, but not the stuff of entertaining recaps Everything actually went really well. All the drama leading up to it pretty much stayed in the past where it belonged, things went mostly smoothly, the weather was perfect, etc. I wish I had some pics of the outdoor venue, it was really pretty.
There were parts that were tough for me, like dealing with my GD diet on the road (with a pasta rehearsal dinner, etc.), standing for >30 mins through the ceremony, and my family's expectation that I pretty much carry on like normal (at 34 weeks pg). But I was prepared for that and put a lot of effort into packing my own food, being well hydrated, etc. so I could do it. I hauled in lunch for the bridal party, did the whole bridal prep routine (which I had planned to skip but then my mom nominated me to bring lunch for it so...), then the wedding, danced at the reception, hauled gifts out to my car at the end of the night (nobody else was sober, and gifts on the bus would've been tough), and stayed up for the after-party. Whew. (And then wanted to sleep for a week.)
I got my dress after the RD on Sat night, and while it wasn't perfect and I had a "when they open" 11am run to Joann Fabrics on the wedding day to buy cups to sew in (which I was frantically doing in the last few mins before pictures), it fit as well as could be reasonably hoped for under the circumstances. Unfortunately I realized when I put the dress on where the 4 lbs. went that I lost with GD. (Bye boobs!)
After getting home Monday night and launching straight into the work week though, I am absolutely dying. Both from a sheer exhaustion standpoint and this introvert needing some at-home down time.
This was at the hotel after party, maybe 1 or 2am after the wedding, with my brother. STILL STANDING, LIKE A BOSS. lol.
You looked amazing, so sorry it was so stressful. I can't imagine doing all that with a 2 yr old and 7 week old, sounds like you handled it as best as possible.

Sounds similar to my sister's wedding, exactly down to the 34 weeks part. And then I had the baby at 35 weeks, 3 days. Hopefully your kiddo stays in longer!
