I love this cover.
I don't know if I'll introduce the kids to the show. I'm a bit on the fence.
For me, personally, I struggle with his stand up. I can't go to the dentist or think of chocolate cake without mentally chuckling and then hating him and myself.

Love this cover and I will need to read the article. I am so sad that the show is tarnished and has been pulled. It represented such a transition for black families on television. There will never be another show like that one.
I am not sure if I will show it to my kids, my daughter is too busy watching Sanford and Son

This is where I am. The Cosby Show isn't as much as a bother for me as the stand up is. I'm also glad that pudding pops aren't still around because I would not be able to eat them even though I'd want to. I don't know why The Cosby Show doesn't bother me as much. Maybe it's because of the rest of the characters. I liked the kids the best anyway.

I like the Little Bill cartoon he did. It was/is? on Nickelodeon. We also have some Little Bill books. I saw one in the book bin when I was cleaning up and cringed a little. And thought about taking it out. But they're great easy reader chapter books that she can read in a year or two.
That is such a good piece. I was reading a similar, though shorter and less impassioned, perspective on this cover online Friday, I think on the Root and both caused me to think on my own reluctance to believe the first accuser. I say reluctance because I didn't think too long or too hard about it when I heard, likely years and years and years ago. Clearly I didn't, because when all hell broke loose a yearish ago it was vaguely familiar to me. And that's all due to Dr. Huxtable.
Aside: thanks to this board and articles posted on it I understand the spades game reference on a deeper level. Ha.

You shouldn't punish Pudding for the crimes of Bill Cosby.

For those that are still comfortable watching the show, are you also comfortable introducing it kids that didn't grow up watching it? I can see as adults that grew up with the show, how one can reconcile liking the show and the other actors on the show while all the while disliking Bill. We can watch it as adults and attempt to see Cliff and not Bill. The illusion of Bill Cosby being the dad we all wanted is gone.
I grew up loving this show and always thought it would be one of the classics I could watch with my kids. But now I wonder if introducing it to my children, allowing them to fall in love with Cliff/Bill, and then later having to explain that we like Cliff but not Bill is such a good idea.
I have introduced it to my kids. My oldest DD literally begs me to find shows for her with people that 'look like her' and characters/plots I find acceptable. We'll cross the Bill/Cliff (see what I did there? lol) when we come to it. For now, for us, the good of the show has enough value.
