1. What type of hair do you have (long, short, curly, straight)?curly 2. Colored or not colored? Any treatment at all? Not colored, no treatments. This really helped my hair. i used to dye it and it made it a mess. 3. What is your daily hair care routine on days that you wash your hair? Wash, apply curl balm, race out of the house. I wash with shampoo twice a week. I have been using bedhead curly shampoo. I condition every day I wash which is every day if my hair is curly. I also use bed head for this. On days I shave I use a deep conditioner and leave it in while I am shaving. This is about 2x a week. I think its a matrix deep conditioner. 4. What is your daily hair care routine on days that you don't wash your hair? I only dont wash my hair if i straightened it. Otherwise its too curly to not wash and looks a mess. 5. List all the ways you usually style your hair for a regular day. I have a side part. Thats as fancy as it gets. If I straighten it i do the first day blow dry straight which has a little body to it. Then the second day i flat iron so its pin straight. Then if i am on a third day I will curl it with the curling iron in barrel curls. I use bedhead dry shampoo in between. I am not a huge fan of it but I bought 3 cans of it when it was on sale so i use it.

1. Medium, curly 2. Colored & highlighted (but grown out) 3. I soak my hair in extra virgin coconut oil for a few hours, then wash. I use 3 shampoos & 1 conditioner. When I’m done, I use the Ouidad mousse with the ‘rake & shake’ method to hold my curls 4. I use the Suave Keratin Dry Shampoo on my roots & a little more Ouidad mousse on the rest of my hair. 5. It’s usually in a pony tail. If not, it’s down & loose. Sometimes half up/half down. Pretty simple.
I always style almost soaking wet, apply products, scrunch with a microfiber towel, let it air dry for a few minutes while I drink coffee, then diffuse with my hair dryer the rest of the way.
If I don't wash I will slightly dampen my hair with a spray bottle I have. The bottle has a couple drops of my conditioner in it. I spray, scrunch, clip, and go.
If I don't have a ton of volume that day, I will clip my hair underneath with these...you can't see the clips, so it is pretty awesome..I use ones smaller than this
I normally wear my hair down, sometimes I wear it half up. On a weekend, I may wear it back with a headband if I am feeling very lazy. I got in a bad habit of wearing my hair back a lot, and it flattened my curls a bit.
I obviously have a system
What do you mean you can't see the clips? Where do they go? How many do you use?
1. What type of hair do you have (long, short, curly, straight)? Past my shoulders, straight. Sometimes I have a bit of wave/curl if it's very humid out. I have a lot of hair, but it's super fine, so it tends to look flat. 2. Colored or not colored? Any treatment at all? I have old, grown out highlights. Nothing else. They aren't that much lighter than my natural color, so it doesn't look too bad - just like end of summer hair. 3. What is your daily hair care routine on days that you wash your hair? I wash with Suave Naturals conditioner only almost every day. I comb, let air dry while I eat breakfast, and then blast it with the air in my car while I drive to work. Done. 4. What is your daily hair care routine on days that you don't wash your hair? I rarely go without co-washing - my hair does crazy things while I sleep. If for some reason I don't, I spritz the roots with dry shampoo, brush it out, and wear it up. 5. List all the ways you usually style your hair for a regular day. Most just air dry/car vent dry and wear down. Some days I wear it up in kind of a messy bun. That's pretty much it! When it was a little shorter, I had to get more creative with maybe a bobby pin to twist my front layers back, or I'd need to flip my ends with a flat iron or large curling iron. Now it's long enough that it just lays really nice. I'm scared to get it cut!

1. What type of hair do you have (long, short, curly, straight)? Long, naturally curly, but I usually blow it straight 2. Colored or not colored? Any treatment at all? There's a little bit of highlight in the ends from when I tried it a year and a half ago. I don't normally do anything. 3. What is your daily hair care routine on days that you wash your hair? Shampoo, condition, towel dry, leave in conditioner, blow dry, or just condition and dry (there are days when I skip the blow dry and let it go curly) 4. What is your daily hair care routine on days that you don't wash your hair? Pull into pony tail, don't get it wet, brush, pull up or not 5. List all the ways you usually style your hair for a regular day. Loose and straight, loose and curly, half up, pony tail, bun, twist, I could go on
1. What type of hair do you have (long, short, curly, straight)? Long and wavy
2. Colored or not colored? Any treatment at all? Au naturel
3. What is your daily hair care routine on days that you wash your hair? Brush, air dry and put in a ponytail or bun
4. What is your daily hair care routine on days that you don't wash your hair? Don't need to brush - just goes straight into a ponytail or bun
5. List all the ways you usually style your hair for a regular day. See above. When I have bangs I straighten them. If I'm in the rare mood to leave my hair down I take the straightener to it

1. What type of hair do you have (long, short, curly, straight)? Medium, thin, straight and flat 2. Colored or not colored? Any treatment at all? No color right now 3. What is your daily hair care routine on days that you wash your hair? Shampoo, conditioner....sometimes mousse but not lately, blow dry, quick flat iron and/or curling iron (mainly on ends). If I'm not going out in public I will just let it air dry and do nothing to it 4. What is your daily hair care routine on days that you don't wash your hair? This is very rare for me...if I don't wash it's because I'm not going anywhere and so there is no routine - shower with shower cap on, that's it...let is stay in a greasy ponytail 5. List all the ways you usually style your hair for a regular day. Almost always just leave it down. Sometimes ponytail if I don't style it.
I wish I could make my hair look better, but I really don't have more time in the morning (and I have to wash - I've tried not and it's way too greasy)
1. What type of hair do you have (long, short, curly, straight)? Long. straight, fine
2. Colored or not colored? Any treatment at all? highlighted for about 15 years, dyed it a shade darker and have letting it go natural for the past 2 years
3. What is your daily hair care routine on days that you wash your hair? I wash it daily, sometimes twice if I do a double workout. John Freida Root Awakening is my favorite new shampoo/conditioner. I've always dfaulted back to Pantene over the years though.
4. What is your daily hair care routine on days that you don't wash your hair? N/A
5. List all the ways you usually style your hair for a regular day. Usually down, side parted, and straight. I do loose curls for going-out/ special occassions. Braided, then looped into a bun for running/working out. Thanks. I'm having hair issues.
I don't like washing it frequently. styling it after a wash is annoying and my hair looks better unwashed.
so maybe 3x a week I wash it? after I use onesta thermal straightening cream on the length and moroccan oil on the tips. if I'm just going to bed or hanging out at home after, I let it air dry and I flat iron the next morning. if I'm heading out, I blow dry and flat iron then.
once my hair is flat ironed it usually stays nice for 2ish days. today is my third day and it looks pretty good. I have dry hair and skin so it rarely looks oily.
once it starts looking bad I either wash it and start over or throw it in a sock bun.
styles: down and straight, down with loose messy curls, half up with a lot of volume at the crown, sock bun, messy bun, down with the twists songforyou posted. I also have a deep side bang that I play with for more or less drama.

1. Long, straight, fine 2. No treatment 3. Yes to Tomatoes shampoo and conditioner EOD, unless I swam, then I use a California Baby swim shampoo. Deep condition with some Giovanni fanciness once a week. Braid before sleeping so DH can snuggle me without inhaling hair. 4. Occasionally a little bit of cornstarch to absorb oil. 5. All down, ponytail, half ponytail, headband
Trying for #3; FET 8/18 -- BFN. Leaving things up to chance for now... After three years, three IVFs, and two FETs, we finally have our miracle babIES!
Hopefully you can see this. I have one clip that you can see from my bangs. I have two other clips near the crown for lift.
Wow, you have great hair. I’m going to try your technique, but I don’t know if it will work for me since I have such thin/fine hair. I’d need like ½ of my head of hair to hold one of those clips. It’s probably just going to fall out, but I’ll still try!

I have fine hair too, just a lot of it One of the biggest mistakes curly girls make is to assume they have thick hair. Honest to God, I keep hair clips with me everywhere...even the duck clips. I wear Duck Clips a good 30 minutes in the morning, add heat to it with the dryer, spray a little of the DEVA hairspray underneath, and reclip on my way to work. I always fix my hair in the bathroom on my way in to adjust anything.
But the great thing about the smaller clips is if you have the mushroom factor (flat on the top of your head, lots of hair around your face), this can help as an SOS situation. But DEVA cuts help too.
Yeah, I don’t have a lot of it. We had to tease it like crazy just to add some volume on my wedding day. It’s worth a shot, though!
mrssavy - do you scrunch your hair with a microfiber towel after applying product? I always thought it was counterproductive, but it works wonders. Make sure you pay a lot of attention to the top of your head. Break your hair into sections and scrunch away! Then clip, add heat to it with a dryer, and go. See if it works...
I scrunch with my hands, rather than a towel, and let it air dry. I can get some decent volume at first, but it usually falls during the day. Eh, I don’t really care that much. If there was something small & quick that I could change, I’d totally do it. But I don’t have the time to diffuse & reapply products.
1. What type of hair do you have (long, short, curly, straight)? Grown out bob - so short-ish and sometimes straight, sometimes wavey, or ugly combo of straight-wavey
2. Colored or not colored? Any treatment at all? Not colored or treated
3. What is your daily hair care routine on days that you wash your hair? I wash every night. Just shampoo and condition. Occassionally I use the heat spray stuff when I straighten my hair in the morning.
4. What is your daily hair care routine on days that you don't wash your hair? n/a
5. List all the ways you usually style your hair for a regular day. Down and straightened, poney, teeny tiny low bun, one of those clip things where you twist your hair up, and if it's wavey when I wake up then I wear a headband and leave it down

Long and straight Used to highlight 3-4 times a year, am now a year into growing out my highlights with no color treatments. Wash my hair every 2-4 days with baking soda/water mixture and rinse with Apple Cider Vinegar. Go to bed with it wet and when I get up it's wavy. If the waves aren't desirable I sometimes straighten. Brush and go or brush and straighten. Sometimes it's a hat day.
I'm surprised no one else uses baking soda and apple cider vinegar. Its amazing! I haven't used shampoo or conditioner in almost a year. I haven't cut my hair since April 2010 and I don't have any split ends.
1. What type of hair do you have (long, short, curly, straight)? Long, extremely thick, very curly hair that I get Japanese straightening on 2x a year.
2. Colored or not colored? Any treatment at all? Yes, I color and see above re: Japanese
3. What is your daily hair care routine on days that you wash your hair? - Shampoo - Conditioner (leave in for at least 10 min) - towel dry, add heat protectant - blow dry - if roots have come back curly, flat iron - use Loreal Mythic oil on the ends for shine
4. What is your daily hair care routine on days that you don't wash your hair?
- In the shower- shower cap. If I take a bath, just put in a bun on the top of my head. - Just brush.
5. List all the ways you usually style your hair for a regular day. - I usually wear it down or in a loose ponytail, but sometimes will put in a little clip to strategically cover up grays when I havent gotten a chance to dye. I'll also wear a headband on the weekends but not to work.
1. What type of hair do you have (long, short, curly, straight)?
Long and very wavy. It's curlier when it's shorter.
2. Colored or not colored? Any treatment at all? Not colored. No treatment.
3. What is your daily hair care routine on days that you wash your hair?
Put some kind of deep-penetrating oil in for about 15-20 minutes before washing (in U.S., it was Organix brand coconut something, in France, I keep experimenting with different brands. Just started using a Garnier Argan oil one). Wash, detangling in the shower when I have conditioner in it. Exit shower, put a mix of hair serum and leave-in conditioner in. Air-dry. Do nothing else.
I've experimented with not using shampoo and have had mixed results, so I don't consistently skip shampoo.
4. What is your daily hair care routine on days that you don't wash your hair?
Spritz some detangler in and run my fingers through it. Either leave it down or spend more time doing braids, etc.
5. List all the ways you usually style your hair for a regular day.
I'm really into doing braids lately. So, either a french braid all the way down my head, a low regular braid or a low ponytail with a fish tail or regular braid, or two braids that I then either twist in the back or cross on top of my head with clips.
Messy buns work when I have no time but feel like my hair looks too dirty to leave down.
1. What type of hair do you have (long, short, curly, straight)? Straight, medium-length 2. Colored or not colored? Any treatment at all? Colored- highlights & lowlights 3. What is your daily hair care routine on days that you wash your hair? Shampoo & Condition (herbal essences), brush/blow dry 4. What is your daily hair care routine on days that you don't wash your hair? Nothing. Sometimes I use some Suave dry shampoo 5. List all the ways you usually style your hair for a regular day. Straight/down, sometimes pull back sides with a bobby pin. I wear a ponytail only for the weekends/around house

I wanted this to work for me, but it just didn't. I know some people say it takes a while for your hair to get used to it, but my hair looked so awful that I didn't want to wait it out.
I just poked around a bit on line right now when I saw your comment and found this article on naturallycurly.com. Maybe this is why my hair reacted so badly? No idea, but I'll keep reading about it to see if there's some modification I can make.
