Since many were part of the SAHM board at the other place, one poster in another thread mentioned that they are no longer a SAHM, and few said the same, just curious as to how many have gone back to work.
I'm working ft atm, but will be taking another 8 month maternity leave in a few weeks. My plan after that is still up in the air.
Wait.. A few weeks? Already? How'd that happen so fast??
Well we have 3 weeks until thanksgiving break and then three weeks to Christmas break and then it's baby time the first week of January. It's kind of flying but have three of the next ten weeks off really helps
I picked ss, because I'm thuper thpecial. Lol. I'm subbing once or twice a week, but since my h just got a job!!!!!!!! I get to be pickier about days/schools

Yay!! Babytime!!!
She totally dropped this week, but we will see if it lasts. She's not transverse any more that's for sure. I'm excited for my appt this week, but she needs to chill out a while longer so I'm hoping she'll just stay put and not continue poking my bladder and such all the time.
FT for me, been back about 2.5 years now. But it's a great schedule. 7-3. M-F. Home for the kids after school for homework and activities and plenty of time for dinner etc.
I have a magical unicorn job---I work from home 20 hours a week and I set my schedule so I do most of my work during nap time/bed time/whenever I want. It's a nice gig but will be ending in a few weeks....I think.
Ahhh that was my gig after taking an extended maternity leave, did it from ds being 9 months to over 2 yo. Went back to ft work since July and doing fine now

I'm still home full time, but my sewing stuff is picking up a little - teaching lessons, custom jobs, Etsy stuff. I don't know if that's technically a job, but it brings in money and is time and energy separate from my darling children.

Congrats on the job, Mr Nanda! Is it a local job or will you be moving?
I work FT and have for over three years. I was laid off for one school year when dd was born. I went back as soon as they offered me a position. SAH is not for me but finding the SAHM board was a nice perk.

Local!! Thank goodness. I'm not cut out for parenting without my village

I work one night a week from 5-10pm. I've been looking for something a few hours during the school day but I'm still unsure about that since I would have to commit to going in 5 days a week or 2-3 longer days.
I still SAH & planned on doing so indefinitely but since the discovery of H's 3 year affair in February (it's been over since then) I just have an uneasy feeling about not having a way of supporting myself & DD if things don't work out (I know it's an awful way of thinking but it's a reality I have to face). I had a great job before DD was born but she's 6 so I'd really have to get my foot in the door again to be able to live comfortably. It's something I've been thinking about a lot. I NEVER want to be in a position that I can't survive on my own. I still have contacts in my career field so I think I'm just going to start testing out the waters again.

I subbed 2-3 days a week last year and have gone back to teaching full time this year. I went back because I wanted to but now will have to continue working since H and I are getting a divorce.

Part time. I feel like that's not quite right since neither of my pt jobs are career type jobs but I think that's my insecurity. I work 16 hours a week nannying and 3-6 hours at a painting studio. It's about ideal for me for time commitment.
