Are you doing a Turkey Trot or something similar this year?
I'm trying to decide what I want to do. I've run my local turkey trot for the past couple of years (it's a 10k). I like the idea of a Thanksgiving morning race, but the fee for this race is $45 ($50 if you register the day of the race), which seems like a lot for a 10k that I would do as a fun run. They don't even give a nice shirt for that price! It's a pretty big race and the only one I can find that's semi-local to me. Harumph. My running club has a 5 and 10-mile race the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and it would be free for me to run that.
Ugh im so torn. Theres one i do every year, a 5 miler. Pretty much everyone i know, from all parts of my life, does it. I just totally dont feel like it.
I'm doing a 10k. I wasn't planning on doing anything big (I have a training half the Sunday after), but this one has a medal. And I have a medal problem. So yeah, signed up.
I like the "I Like Pie" run in my hometown. Wish I could do that one; such a fun giant get together.
We're still debating our local half. I want to, but I'm debating if it's worth the hassle. We're hosting & we'll have 6 people staying with us. I'm tempted to just make an overnight breakfast casserole, tell them to throw it in the oven when they wake up, then I'll start dinner when we get home. I need to discuss with DH.

I'm just running on my own since I teach a thankful flow that morning. I never get home in time if I run one plus I like to get in a good LONG run so I can eat a lot lol
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.

There is a local 5K, but considering my hatred of 5Ks, I may skip it and just do a long run somewhere. My club does a prediction 10K, but it's too late in the morning for me to have dinner on at a decent hour. Although, if this toe doesn't heal quickly, I may be out still.
Haha, I just remembered a story from last year. I had a goal of sub 24, and my Garmin said 24:xx, but it also measured long. So, I spent many moments of the day cooking with one hand, refreshing the official results site with another hand. 23:59. : )
I am debating it. My running club has a 5M Waddle Wattle that is part of our Grand Prix for $20. I am doing a pre Thanksgiving Turkey trot 10k this w/e for $25. I'm not sure I'll want to race 2x in less than a week.
I'm doing a 5k with DH. This might seem like nbd, but in our 7 years of marriage and 9 years of dating before that, he has never ever done a race with me. I am SO excited!

I looked at the prediction 10k and thought it was pretty late. We've got food to cook and eating to do!
We'll be at my in-laws and there isn't one nearby, so nope (wilted)
We'll be back home on Saturday, and there is a kind of brutal 10 miler with some super tough hills that Sunday that I might run. I did it last year with bostonmichelle and vowed to never do it again, but I'm a glutton for punishment I guess

Yup! And my kids will be doing a the fun run for the first time.
Ours benefits the Y which is where my kids go to school. So I count my $45 as part of fundraising and don't feel bad if I skip an in-school fundraiser that I'm not a fan of.
C25K...it works Seaside 5K...........40:45(2012) Turkey Trot..........41:30(2012)/37:08(2013)/37:40(2014) St Pat's 5K..........39:27(2013)/38:48(2014)/35:12(2015) Belair Town Run......38:09(2013)/36:27(2014) Back To Football 5K..37:36(2013)/43:44(2015) Balt Run Fest 5K.....34:59(2013)/41:50(2014)/35:54(2015)
clseale - you are crazy. If I was hosting I doubt I would even consider a 5K. And you're looking at a half thinking it's NBD. I know it's because you're amazing, but also remember you just ran a brutal, hot nearly marathon.
This post has me thinking. If my H can be convinced to slow jog a turkey trot with me this year I would love that. I'll have to scheme & see if it can fit into our plans that day.

I'm kind of sad I won't be able to be home to seek revenge on that course. You should absolutely do it!
Probably. I've done the 5k the last 4 years and placed in my AG every year...I sort of feel the need to keep the streak intact. Except I'll probably die a miserable 5k death because I've been running like 12 miles a week and doing no speedwork since MCM.
I am teaching Spin. I am doing a turkey shaped HIIT class. I'm making visual aids. I'm so excited.
I wish my gym was open! I would totally take a spin class or strength class vs. racing. The closest races are 25 minutes away and my gym is a couple blocks away. It would be so convenient.
