I love this idea! A student gave a couple to me a few years ago, and I won $50!

I haven't given them to teachers-- I definitely would-- but I've always done them as stocking stuffers for dh. He loves them.

I've used this as an adjective before, but only in a very negative judgy way. "So how was your cousin's wedding last weekend?" "It was pretty fun. Big, lots of pink, and, um, Pinteresty."

If it's used as a pejorative, that's one thing. If it's used in defense of how awesome your consolation prize gifts are for the teachers you don't give a flying fuck about, it's gross. IMHO

"I LOVE DS's 2nd grade teacher. He also wants to give gifts to his music and art teachers.
I typically make super cute jars of gourmet hot cocoa from Annie Eats, and throw something else in.

DD has 5 preschool teachers between her montessori preschool and an early childhood intervention program. Her last day of the EEC is Dec 16th, I think, and we aren't going back after Xmas. So I am thinking of skipping those 2 teachers. She has just been there since October.

I will probably do hot cocoa for everyone except DS's main teacher. Should I get her a gift card somewhere? How much?"

poor people smell so bad though. the GRIME on their hands. That's been my experience though the only ones I've encountered have been at mac donalds that one time. NO I was not eating there, I was about to pee my pants and it was the only place I could use. Luckily it was a mac donalds pretty close to an affluent neighborhood, and I carry organic toilet seat cleaning disinfectant spray in my expensive diaper bag backpack so it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

I do support the poor though, just like .. from afar.

For real, and whenever I've received "Pinteresty" hot chocolate (because there are people nice enough to give me something even though they DGAF about me, apparently) it's pretty much been packages of Swiss Miss dumped into another container made to look like a reindeer or something. And then ruined by sticky marshmallows. Trash.
