Whatever car you choose, make sure it doesn't have overlapping seat belts. You won't be able to install 3 car seats if the car has them. At least a few of the cars mentioned in this thread have overlapping seat belts and wouldn't work. It will specify in the cars manual which two seats could be used at the same time. And don't take a salespersons word for it. They see three seatbelt and assume they could all be used at the same time. There is a list of cars in one of my CPST groups and it's a surprisingly common issue.
I have a 2015 Passat, and you could easily fit 3 seats across, and there is no seat belt issue.
I've heard about this with the RAV-4. There are other models that have this problem, too? That's really frustrating! Why put 5 seatbelts in and then say "haha, just kidding, you can only drive 4 people!"?

Yes, there are numerous cars. I'll copy the list over here when I get home tonight. It's really unfortunate.

Minivan. I feel like most newer cars have cargo cover as a feature or available as add on. I will say, I am die hard Subaru lover. I drove my Subaru from highschool till a while ago. When we decided to have baby #3. I gave it to my BIL. He is still driving it. The car 25 years old still runs great. They are truly solid cars. But having minivan with kids is amazing. Room for a stroller and groceries. Easier on your back with taking kids in and out. Room for carpool. I can pick up my friend and her kids and go to out. It just works with kids.
