(Totally inspired by a post on ML)
What's the difference between your house as it is currently and as it shows on google street view?
Ours: At some point, google came by since we painted the house. My car's in the driveway. But Dot was still alive, b/c her raincoat was hanging on a hook by the front door. We hadn't replaced the roof yet. Our grass was still alive. (Must've been early spring).
Interestingly, if you rotate from our neighborhood street to the busy main road, our house changes color to the old paint job. Apparently google didn't enter city limits.
ETA: LOL, there's an upside-down HD homer bucket on the kitchen porch. Klassy.
Looks like it was early summer 2 years ago when they came by. Best friend's old car is in the driveway (must have been when she lived with us), grass is still mostly alive, all three veggie beds have supports in place for tomatoes. Oh look! This was back before the neighbor's truck died and then he pushed it to the end of his driveway near the street summer of LAST YEAR and while drunk, he and his friends smashed it up with bricks and an axe and then proceeded to leave it there. What a blissful time that was before!
What's changed: H tore out a huge chunk of grass on the north side and built a beginning petanque court (not the fancy version we plan to upgrade it to with nice edged sides). Quince tree in the back yard added this summer. A huge pile of bark mulch in the driveway H ordered and then never did anything with. A large pile of fine gravel H ordered for the court and then didn't do anything with the remainders. Neighbor's bashed up dead truck sitting blocking his driveway so he drives in through OUR driveway because he's to pineappling lazy to go get the $18 total loss version of his title so a scraper can take it away.
ETA: If it makes you feel better, my huge rubbermaid container that I use as my compost bucket while weeding is upside down on the lawn.

My current house isn't on street view. Neither is my parents. The old house is from 2013. We had it on the market and an open house was happening that weekend. Nothing really changed since then.

It takes Google a few years to catch up. I've seen 3 versions since I've lived here. Every time they update, I'm glad the hedge was cut and the yard looked neat.
Our pic is like 3 yrs old - our fence is unstained and there's no screened porch - pretty big differences Oh and we've done a lot w/the landscaping too.
Since then, the most obvious changes from the street are a new mailbox and a paved driveway. The house has been repainted, but it's the same colors still. Landscaping also hasn't changed much on this side of the house - the focus has been on the other side of the house, where we added a shed, swingset, tore out an old patio and made a sandbox, and cleaned up the garden beds a LOT.
I'll try to remember to take a pic when I get home, although it is much less pretty and private with no leaves on the trees.

Ours is from May 2013, so basically nothing has change. However, they have our address being on the side street and not our actual street (our neighborhood is weird because our street comes in, then it takes over the street name that it comes to a T with and continues to the right and goes up and around an almost complete U-shape and then goes to the right again while another street name takes over there. I don't get it, but maybe our street existed before the others. It's extremely confusing to people using any kind of GPS app on their phone.

So many things, it was taken just before we moved in. So new roof, door painted, front yard professionally landscaped, pool slide replaced (it is in the back yard off to the side and visible), repaved driveway and I replaced the light post light.
The last time I checked, street view came by when the previous owner still owned the house. There was a mass of oversized wicker furniture on the porch, a satellite dish beside the front door, and the flower beds on the side of the house (we are on a street corner so they are super visible) had old doors and windows hanging in them. It was very strange and a number of our neighbors came by to thank us for taking them down when we first moved in.
Our front porch now only has a few chairs hanging out because we plan on sanding the floor and ceiling over the winter to paint in the spring and I've been working on cleaning out the side of the house the past two summers we've been here. I've managed to zap all of the honeysuckle and next summer I will be widening out the planting area down the side of the house and adding hydrangeas.

I never looked at mine until now. It was taken right before we moved in, 3 years ago this month, the realtor sign with "under contract" is in the picture. Zooming in I actually see the previous owner doing yardwork lol
it looks exactly the same though, except for fence and playsets we added. but we haven't changed anything on the exterior of the house yet
I just looked up my parents in the town over, the new shots were taken the same month, so my car is parked in my parents drive since we lived there between selling/ buying

Ours looks just the same - and must be late Spring or early summer bc it's so green. Plus we must have been at work bc it only shows the VW van in the driveway and we usually park in front.

My current home doesn't have a street view. It's a gated community, so I guessing they didn't let the google car in Somewhat related, realtor.com tells me my house has appreciated 10% since I bought it June, 2014.
My prior homes are there. Both taken in 2013. Both look great.
Just looked it up... Ugh, why did they come through on trash day? Seems to be prior owners still since the trash bin looks different. The neighbor to the left of us had the same stones in the driveway as now, at least 1.5 yrs ago. Said neighbor is in jail and his house looks hella worse now. Waiting for that house to foreclose.

Ours was on trash day, too!
It was before we lived here though, and the neighbor across the street had an Easter flag out, so it was taken at least a year before we moved here. We will have been here 3 yrs this spring.
We had trees trimmed, a few removed, cleared shrubs on one side to create a sort of horseshoe driveway, removed the post and rail fence and put in a privacy fence. We also painted the house and trim different colors and added decorative panels. We got a new mailbox and changed the location.
My mom's house in AZ has my car in front of the house, so they came by when I happened to be visiting from CA. Weird.

Google street view is from 1 month after we closed and a month (give or take) before we moved in - so there's a dumpster, the landscaping is over grown, there are trees in the back yard that aren't there now, the previous owners curtains are still in the window, etc etc etc.
I'm not sure when it was but definitely before we bought the house. The previous owners had extensive landscaping done and it was before that was installed. Thank goodness, it looks SO much better with the retaining walls and landscaping!
