I loved Miracle on 34th Street by Valentine Davies. It was written concurrently to the movie script, but is not exactly the same as the movie. And it's fairly short so it's a quick read for busy times.
Other than that, most Christmas-y books I've read are parts of series mysteries.
The only one that comes to mind immediately isthe original A Christmas Carol by Dickens, which could be interesting for a book club given the adaptations.

This reminds me that I want to find an audio version that was read by Patrick Stewart. I love his narration and thought it would be fun to listen to again with DH.
