That said, I love buying presents! Of course I buy for my parents... I usually get them whatever they ask for and then a few other things if I can come up with some ideas. I also do both of their stockings. I do not have a budget for my parents. They do not ask for anything crazy anyway.
Because I love buying presents I buy for:
Two sets of Aunts and Uncles ($10 each couple) 4 cousins ($10 each) 5 cousins kids ($7-$8 each) my godson ($15) My friends daughter ( $15) My neighbors just had a baby so I will get him something too ($15) My aunt and uncles dog ( can't leave him out!) ($15) Yes I spend more on the dog than some of the kids, but my aunt and uncle spoil me rotten, so their dog gets a little extra.
I also buy for my cats, because they are awesome. I have a habit of buying myself a few gifts along the way as well.
$100 each for parents, brother, sister, bil and niece $100 for gift exchange at extended family and the other $300 is because I go over every year for every person
DH has a trial in January so Christmas is trial-dependent. I may take the girls out for a week, or we may fly my mother in as a Christmas gift to her. DH's mom generally gets a few hundred dollars.
I'm going to try to stay within $1500 this year for the girls and DH. Fingers crossed because I generally go at about twice that. But GD1's birthday is the beginning of November and we got her a computer. GD2's birthday is Monday and she's having a party with friends at the AG store plus taking them to see Nutcracker ballet so that's a few hundred there for her. And GS2 is December 17. So I have to deal with that before I get to Christmas.
Thanks for the cold February/March 2003-2005, Mother Nature. Just thanks.
I'm pregnant so we're in saving mode. Usually we spend more on each other and our families. Also my immediate family is ginormous so we draw names. Otherwise we'd be buying for 12 people.
