Also, it'll be in the 40s and I am bringing a long sleeve shirt to run in because I'm scared of the cold. I'll bring my usual, a tank, as well just in case I feel brave.

The majority of the 1500 runners were for the 5k, but finished first in my AG for the 10k in 47:26. I honestly had no idea what to expect today. Breaking 50 mins was a nice surprise.

I was up at 4, and in Clearwater by 6 for the turkey trot 5k! I got the mug! YASSS!!!! lol My watch time was 23:31 - I was running in fear the entire 3.2 miles, fear i wouldn't be able to keep the pace and I wouldn't get that damn mug, but I did it! woot!
Now I'm home eating scrambled eggs, about to shower, and then go over to my inlaws for a little while before DD & I go to my Moms house this evening.
I'm up! Visiting my family solo this weekend which is a little weird but just won my AG in our local turkey trot (and my baby sis got 2nd in hers) and I'm ready to eat.
I ran a really solid race, 24:38 and my mile splits were all w/in 5 sec of each other. I finished 4th in my age group, so i figure this baby owes me an age group award

TURKEY TROT DONE!
I ran 5k in 42:50 last week. Today it was 43:06 although my GPS says I went a little farther (probably going around the walkers who insisted on walking 4 across and the people who violated the rules by bringing strollers). Also, I forgot that the course had a giant hill, which I wound up walking because I was just wasting energy by "running" it.
This was my first race in 4.5 years, so I'm generally just glad to be back at it and am proud of the work I put in to get here.

It is easy to forget you just had a baby 3 months ago. Holy cow woman! Congrats!!
Super job Stingyshark!! Love all these results coming in.
Finished up my Turkey Trot. Didn't break 30 but I think I PR'd this course. The first mile was my downfall at 10:25 then the last two were 9:22 and 9:40 but that was because I was trying to keep up with my SIL the last two. Also not an overall PR either. Missed that by 1.5-2 minutes.

You guys! Every single bike was full! And making holiday themed visual aids was every bit as awesome as I hoped it would be. Also, my run streak mile is done.
LOL!!! Today's race was a cluster. Because of the weather, they changed the course. Fine. Except no one knew where the finish line was, so the leaders ran this extra around-the-block thing (some of them ran it twice!), and of course we all followed! There was NO ONE, and NO CONES, no nothing to show where we needed to go to the finish line and you couldn't see the finish line from where we were. So of course, I ran nearly .3 long, and people who didn't run the extra loop ran less than 3 miles. So age group was allllllll fucked up and people were a little pissed (including me), because I was right in the mix of people who ran extra and people who didn't.
Anyhoo, my official time was like 25:43, but my 5k time was 23:xx (didn't plug in the garmin yet), which today was good enough for first in my age group and a cherry pie. Ha! The age group streak continues. Not too bad for only running, um...twice? in the last couple of weeks and not doing a warm up. I'm sure I'll pay for it later.
