I am at an amazing and crazy busy park in Fairfax County wearing out DS, my nephew, and niece while everyone else cooks. Since I know we are NoVA heavy on this board I keep thinking "what if one of the MMM is here." Most of the moms have very "us" attire, strollers, diaper bags, infant carriers, etc.
So, anyone else taking advantage of the amazing DC area weather and at a park in the Langley area?
We're having a lazy morning around here. We watched "MINIONS!" (Despicable Me 2) this morning with C, put him down for an early nap and now H and I are starting Quantico.
We'll head to my parent's house (a whole 3 miles away) when C gets up, where my mom won't allow me to help with anything and will insist I relax. I love Thanksgiving.

Are you at Clemyjontri? I am not there now, but I bet we will be there some time later today or tomorrow.
Yes! It is quite literally in my SILs backyard. If there was an opening in the fence we wouldn't even have to go on a street to get there. They are going to add a gate in the spring.

Happy Thanksgiving! DS2 is napping, DS1 is quietly playing trains in his room, and I'm drinking a mimosa and watching the parade. Soon I have to get up and finish cleaning but not yet.
WF assured me the smoked turkey would be completely defrosted by this morning and it's not. So I have to brave the crowds & they are giving me another one.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! This is our first holiday in our new house and I am ridiculously excited to use the crystal glasses that we received as wedding gifts. It's the first time we're using them - 4 years later...
Happy Thanksgiving! We're having a quiet day, and we're only having one couple over later for food. I'm enjoying some peace and quiet now since both kids are napping. And DS slept for 8 hours straight last night - it's been a while since he did that. And DD is getting better at using the potty - she peed on it again today. I think she's getting a lot better at noticing she has to go (several times this week she asked to use the potty and I could tell that she had just peed).
I don't know how much more hunting talk I can pretend to enjoy hearing. DH has been going out morning & afternoon all this week, and every day is another story. Which way the deer ran, the "great shot except for the tree in the way", the "car horn that scared the herd." I'm running out of ways to say "oh bummer" without sounding disingenuous.

Trying to get DS to nap after Thanksgiving lunch but it is not working.
Lunch was excellent though. We did had a small champagne toast before lunch and Pinot Noir with the turkey. So other than the not napping the day is going well.
My grandpa, who is going kind of senile, asked me when I am expecting. He's known for a while that I'm pregnant but apparently forgot. So I told him and he said, "You know what causes that, right?" I love my grandpa.
This is why math is important: had a coupon for 50% off one item at Reitmans. It could be stacked with sales and sweaters were 40% off. Sales lady calculated it as 90% off. That gave me a better deal than I should have had!!

This is why i can't be a cashier bc I would've done the same thing?
40% off $40 would have made it $24, then 50% off that would make it $12. As opposed to 90% off $40, which made it $4!!!
And it had been previously marked down from $50. So essentially I got 92% off the initial price. Lol!
