I've never been a fan and never owned any. I'm surprised people still buy them, I feel like they should be over by now. I know a lot of women my age (late 30's), and teenage girls who wear a big stack of them.

No They are in the same realm as Pandora and Brighton jewelry to me. I know people from RI that love them. Think the target market is middle aged in reality, but maybe 20 - 30 on paper.
I'm from RI and couldn't dislike them more:) Plus everyone I know who has worked there says their "peace love whatever" mantra is total bullshit and they are corporate assholes like everyone else.

There's a pretty large A&A store at a shopping center near me, and I'm always shocked it's still open. Just seems like they are sold everywhere and that an entire store would be really redundant.

When they first came out, we were up in RI fairly often wedding planning and I thought they were cool. Initially it seemed like they were a successful small business and now they've turned into a corporate empire . I'm actually surprised as to how they are still "popular". I have a few, but really only wear the bracelets that have sentimental meaning to me - 2 of my friends gave me a bracelet when DS was born, so I have one with his first initial and a birthstone bracelet.
My college age cousin loves them and so does her mom (late 40s) and my mom even has a few (late 50s), so I think there's a large age group that likes them.
I don't care for them. I've seen one that looked pretty, but they look annoying to wear. Like the charm would never fall where I want it to be. Plus they are really pricey for what they are.
I like them on other people, but bracelets bug the crap out of me to wear.
They were incredibly popular - still fairly common here for women in their 20s to 50s. But I think that it's partly popular because the trend started here and the business is a success.
I have 2 that I received as gifts, and I like them. I probably wouldn't buy for myself, but I think they're nice and on each the charms have meaning. One I got when DD was born, and the other is a Marines charm that sMIL got me and my SILs because BIL is a Marine.
I saw a big display of them at The Bay on Queen street. They are definitely a thing here, I know some of my friends are into them. I actually have one because I got one for SS when I was on TN. I hadn't heard of them then.

I didn't mean to imply that they weren't a thing here. Just because I don't know about them doesn't mean much!

I kind of worded it wrong but I was surprised myself to see the huge stand at The Bay.
I do prefer hem to Pandora, which I really am not a fan of.
