What are people doing for St. Nick's/stocking stuffers? I know the big stuff I'm getting them but kinda drawing a blank on what to do for St. Nick's (beyond candy).
Also, my parents apparently got the children one of those ride-in motorized cars. My H is horrified. I have no idea how we're going to get that thing home, much less what we'll do with it once it's here. We don't have any sort of place to store it. *sigh*

DS, who just turned four usually gets:
Bubble bath Shampoo A plastic candy cane filled with candy (usually M&Ms) A wooden Thomas engine or two Some non-chocolate type of snack (he loves Annie's bunny fruit snacks) New underwear (this year is Paw Patrol)
Last year, I included a Matchbox car 4-pack, but he got SO MANY for his birthday, I'm leaving those out this year.

Why is my two year old suddenly taking a morning nap?!? She just looked at me, said she was tired, and then started to cry. I asked if she wanted to take a nap and she said yes. She's sleeping right now! DH said she did the same thing yesterday. What the heck is that about?

I feel your pain. We have one. My brothers bought one for Kit two years ago. It sits in our garage, and is never used. I haven't had the heart to get rid of the thing, but it's such a pain to charge, and more of a pain to take out.

We have one, too. The battery sucks; it barely holds a charge. We plug it in all night for fifteen minutes of drive time. Mostly, the kids sit in it and listen to it's radio (which takes four D batteries! So expensive.)

My kid has started taking 4+ hour naps. It doesn't seem to harm her night sleeping so I don't care (plus I get lots of stuff done), but when its 5 pm and my kid is still napping I get a little concerned for her health and her 7:30 bedtime.

Holidays are tiring. I'm with her.
I plan my entire day around her two hour afternoon nap. She better not be fucking up Mommy's break time!

fun socks books prism for making rainbows - DS1 is also getting Pop Bottle science and Lizard Lenses small toys (Paw Patrol is big with DS2 this year) and Schleich animals craft supplies- stickers, crayons, colored pencils, small sketchbook, etc. card game - we always need Uno because the card get lost or grungy ornament
Other things we've done before - 10 oz. Tervis tumbler, marbles, trains, matchbox cars, Little People, play food, doll clothes for doll or stuffed animal, big horseshoe magnet, magnifier, tub toys, play-doh, puzzles, etc.

My current plan is to claim the battery didn't work and return it for some other equally extravagant but vastly more practical gift. I feel awful saying that but they have 2 bikes, 3 scooters, a trike, and a wagon. Plus 4 strollers (regular, sit and stand, jogging and bike trailer). They really don't need another mode of transportation.
Magnifying glasses (plastic. They have them on MMC all the time so they know what it is)
Gardening gloves
Always matchbox cars. We have an infinite supply. They can go to restaurants, camping, somewhere I need them to be quiet, and if they're lost no biggie.
Coloring/sticker books
Character cups.
Bath toys.
I usually have to stop myself on stockings and be very careful not to overbuy. One year I had so much I kept half of it for Easter.

I have the same problem. If only I had that same problem for adult stocking stuffers and presents. My kids would be happy with cardboard and lint as long as it was wrapped with a bow. Adults are so much harder to shop for!

Haha. We have all that plus doll strollers, shopping carts, balance bikes, ride on toys.....

How many kids do you have? We have gotten so much use out of our power wheels jeep if you have room. They would ride it for hours pretending to be doing lawn work like dad, picking up sticks, pretending a tow behind wagon was a tractor, playing army. My parents also had an arctic cat, motorcycle and go cart type ride ons at their house that they brought to mine (ridiculous, that is a whole other story). But yesterday and today we had my boys 6 and 4 and the neighbor boys 5, 6 and 9 and they had them all out. They love their bikes but those require more adult supervision.
For stockings I usually do: Markers, crayons, colored pencils - whatever is wearing out or broken A fancy toothbrush - DS loves Spinbrushes A small Lego pack Some sort of non-candy snack - this year it is a carton of goldfish Some sort of candy - Hershey's deluxe kisses this year A pack of hot wheels or a monster jam truck That usually fills it up.

My children have been home for four days, and I'm sooo ready for them to go back to school. How am I going to survive Winter Break? Any words of wisdom?
All five of us (including the dog) shared a room while we were at the ILs. J has been waking up at 6ish, which is fine at home where he just annoys A until their clock goes off at 7:15. So while we were all together, he would come and wake me up. Saturday I opened my eyes to his face 3 inches from mine. And when I tried to pretend he was a t-Rex and wouldn't see me if I didn't move, he tried to open my eyes.
He did turn on MMC one day all by himself. I was pretty proud of that.

My kid woke up last night screaming her head off. At midnight. She's the type that normally going into her room makes it worse. So we let her scream for about 10 minutes before we did anything. I felt like MOTY.
My husband's uncle bought the kids a karakoke machine for Chanukah. The first problem is that it took up as much room as a full sized suitcase and we had to schlep all of our stuff for a week and all of the kids' stuff for a week (cot, PNP, portable booster, clothes, toys, etc.), so there was more room. The second problem was that my kids are 1.5 and 3.5.
It did not make it into the car for the trip home. Sweet sentiment, but I'm not storing it.
For St. Nick's, my kids will each get a puzzle and a small game (spot it for my 4 yo girl and a would you rather game for my 8 year old boy), along with a couple of small-ish pieces of candy
I'm sorry about the vehicles. Any chance they'll fit in your garage?? I would never buy them, but we have gotten a couple of hand me downs from family, and they are fun (in addition to all the kid-powered mobile devices).
So far I've gotten him a recorder from the $1 bin at Target (so that I won't care if mommy has to make it dissapear once it becomes annoying) and some matchbox cars.

DD threw up in my car on Saturday, which was lovely. Thank god we keep wipes in the car. DH got her out and changed her clothes ont he side of 195, and I cleaned out the carseat as best I could. I bought new kitchen towels that were in the car so she sat on those for the way home.
The car seat cannot be salvaged. The cover and straps can be washed, but it got into all the crevices underneath the seat and it's easier to buy a new one.
I realized what was happening in time to save her headphones and my kindle, but not to get her a bag.
