This was kind of what I was thinking, both in regards to ensuring everyone receives something and to eliminate any issues with people wanting to help but can't spend as much - jenny1980 could take the "pool" and purchase/send gifts as necessary.
This is WAY more work than doing an amazon wishlist and having it directly shipped, though. This time of year is busy enough, I think the wishlist is a good idea. It cuts out the middleman. I think ML is good at giving and will see a list isn't getting any attention.
You're probably right. I haven't really participated/used the Amazon wishlist, I was mostly thinking about how it may be hard if you can't spend a lot to try and find something in your price range - if someone has $10 they can donate but only see $20 items. Can you do gift cards on Amazon?

Yes! Jenny said she will ask all prices ranges be put on their wishlist so everyone that wants to can participate. :-)
I ran something similar for a few years back on the old nest for the Parenting board. It was before Amazon wish lists were as prevalent so I had a master list/spreadsheet and kept track of who needed what and who got what. It was really nice and I'm still proud of how much we were able to do. Based on my previous experience, I'd think Amazon lists would work really well, esp with the prevalence of prime now. We also had a pool of money people donated and we bought from Amazon as needed to round out what was spent and in the end, the first year, we split the money we had left and sent Visa gift cards.

I love this idea. I know I can't give a ton, but I have more than others who could really use it. I'd like to help make someone's holidays a little brighter.
