This is the first time I have ever decorated in November. I have a crazy week, including a work trip and then will be busy/away on a girls weekend this next weekend. So wouldn't have gotten to it until mid-December which seemed crazy.
My birthday is Decmeber 1 and my Mom is December 7. So as kids, the rule was no tree until after the birthdays. We are going to do it Sunday. The only free day we have it seems.
I always love a tree and decorations. Didn't have any last year bc DS was born just before Thanksgiving. This year, I bought a wreath and am going to put up a few other non-tree decorations.
I really want a tree but I felt myself getting stressed about it, how to keep DS out of it, and how to put it away and decided to just do non-tree decor this year.
No. I'm firmly opposed to Christmas decorations before thanksgiving. It rained all weekend, so I didn't have the opportunity to send the kids outside or to the park with MH so that I could clean up adequately to put stuff out. So today while the olders are in school I will clean and tomorrow I will begin decorating.
We also get a real tree. H wanted to get it this weekend, which would have been the earliest we ever got it, but it literally hasn't stopped raining since Thursday night.
Even though I have been in bed since Thursday with a nasty sinus infection, that has no bearing on the fact we still have our fall decorations up. We normally decorate the second week of December and keep them up until January 6th.
We get new carpet next Monday so we will put it up after that so we don't have to move it. Growing up we didn't put a tree up until after my dads birthday on dec 12th, probably helped keep us kids from bothering my parents about Santa and presents!

We *might* get to it next Sunday, Saturday if our plans change. This weekend was shot, b/c we do 2 celebrations (Thursday/Saturday) and yesterday DH and I were exhausted so we slept in before my ILs brought DD home and we went to a train show. Next weekend our best friends are going to be visiting family near us, so we are going to spend part of Saturday with them as it stands now. So our first opportunity will be Sunday, really. And the weekend after that, DH and I are going to Vegas, so that only leaves the weekend of the 19th if we don't get to it on Sunday.

Nothing here yet. My husband and I always joke that the REAL war is on Thanksgiving, so we don't even think about it until after that. But Thanksgiving was so late this year, I can see why people did. I think we're going to have my ILs babysit for us, so we'll go this weekend.
My husband is such a weirdo though; he insists on a real tree and decorating and everything that goes along with it, but the minute Christmas is over, he can't get rid of everything fast enough.
You are not alone. I never put anything up until after Thanksgiving. However, we are having our living room and dining room carpeting cleaned today so I didn't do anything this weekend either.
I might try to get the tree itself up before our cleaning service comes Friday since it sheds. Then we'll have a clean slate to start decorating this weekend.
