Feel free to add your own.
What are you guys doing for a winter coat? I'm not sure how much longer I will be able to zip mine and it's definitely needed. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg on something I will likely only wear a few months though. Have you seen any good deals?
Does anyone have a compact car? What car seat are you getting? I have a Hyundai Accent and I'm wondering if anything is going to fit without having to put the seats all the way forward.
One more. I'm having pain on the right side of my belly button. It's kind of sharp and feels muscular. It's not constant, but it is sore to the touch. Baby seems to be fine. He's been really active the last couple of days so I'm not too concerned, but it is bothering me a little. Any idea on what this is?

1) I have a swing coat from F21 that I plan on using. It's warm- lined wool- but I bought it originally to go over a very full skirted dress.
2) n/a
3) RLP? Mine shifts around and can be sore to the touch. The best thing that I have done is get a massage with a certified prenatal massage specialist and have her work on it for a while. She suggested using oil and rubbing back over sore areas right when you get out of a warm shower and that has been helpful since.
I don't have a compact car, but I did have an unexpectedly PITA time of fitting a car seat into our '08 Subaru Forester. It was so much tighter than our Jetta! We had to hunt for the seat that was shortest (shallowest?) front to back in order to not have our knees hitting the dashboard in the front seats. Chicco Keyfit and Graco Snugride Click Connect 35 were the two that fit the best for us. We bought the Graco because we liked them similarly, and we found a great deal on a 2015-manufactured but discontinued color Graco. The Chicco was harder to find any kind of price break on, and was more expensive to begin with too.
If you go to Buy Buy Baby they let you take the floor model car seats out to the parking lot to try out in your car. Highly recommend doing that.
I am hoping that I can keep wearing my winter coat - it flares out from the chest, so it should accommodate a bump. Fingers crossed anyway. Old Navy has 40% off today if you wanted to check there though?
My Q: My normal brisk walk this morning gave me aches that were similar to RLP. I had to slow the pace and then I was fine. Is this normal or maybe I was dehydrated? (Though I don't think I was dehydrated, I have a water bottle by my side all the time lately.)
Also a weird question - the gums behind my front upper teeth feel swollen and agitated. The dentist told me it's due to hormones. Did this happen to anyone else? I have dental anxiety (add it to my list of anxieties) so this doesn't help.

Yep. It's been hard to floss because my gums get sore and bleed. My dentist also said it was hormonal.

Yes. I had dental cleanings at about 10 and about 37 weeks, and both times was like a murder scene. I felt bad for the hygienist. I was actually afraid I had a cavity at the 10 week app't but it was just sensitivity from my gums being swollen (whew). Flossing sucked.
I have had that before, although not as bad, and my dentist asked if I was on BCPs. It seemed like an odd/random question at the time but he explained that the hormones from those can cause gum bleeding too.

Yep, I was only 6w the last time I went and it was gross- so much blood, which of course triggered my gag reflex and I threw up repeatedly... poor dental hygenist was like WTF. My gums periodically swell and they bleed every time I floss or use my Sonicare. I've gone to a manual brush because of it.
PennyCandy if you order today, old navy has their maternity coats like 40%-50% off. I have a too big non-materbity version I'm wearing. For super cold, below zero weather with a hoodie underneath it still does the job.
Also, we have the Cybex Aton. It's the shortest seat on the market by a few precious inches. My husband is 6'3" and we couldn't give up that space so we paid extra for the smallest carseat available. Convertible carseats are even harder to fit in small cara with tall people, so just be aware that you'll be back to square one in a year or less. I'd recommend picking out a convertible seat by the time your kid is a few months old so you can watch sales once you know what you want.
Thanks for me feel better ladies! I get so freaked out when it comes to dental issues and so this doesn't help. I had a cleaning around 5 weeks and have one scheduled for like 35 weeks-ish. That should be interesting!
I bought a maternity coat from Pea in a Pod on clearance a few weeks ago. I really doubt it will get me through to the end, not enough room to cover a big bump.
raangoli I get RLP when I'm walking and they only improve when I slow down. I vote normal.
raangoli My gums are really sensitive these days as well, totally normal. As for pain when walking, that happens to me too. I slow the pace and it tends to feel better. Sometimes it's almost like a stitch from running. My doctor says that it's normal and just a way the body signals it needs rest.
I got a maternity camel coat on sale for $120. I feel like it's worth it, I'm due in March so I'm getting 5 months of use out of it, then I may try to sell it (it's a nice coat, originally $450).

Re: car seats in small cars: We have an 01 Corolla (mine) and an 05 RAV4 (DH's), neither of which gives us much wiggle room for car seats. Like amaranth said, the Aton is very nice; we could adjust the driver's seat in the Corolla to normal position and still had room. However, at the price point, we couldn't justify it (since we would be buying two). We got Chicco Keyfits instead; in both cars we had to move the driver's seat up one click from the primary driver's usual position, but we're not too squished (I am 5'4" and DH is 5'8?"). We referenced this when choosing car seats (and fit-tested them at Buy Buy Baby): csftl.org/battle-of-the-infant-seats/.
Trying for #3; FET 8/18 -- BFN. Leaving things up to chance for now... After three years, three IVFs, and two FETs, we finally have our miracle babIES!
I have a swing coat from Victoria's Secret that I used during my last pregnancy. It only had buttons up on the bust, so there was a lot of room for the bump!

We have a VW GTI so we tried out car seats at both BRU (they make you leave a driver's license at the desk and let you take the seat out to your car) and Buy Buy Baby (someone came to our car with us and the seat) and ended up registering for the Chicco Keyfit 30.
PennyCandy if you are okay with skipping the infant bucket seat and going straight to a convertible, the Diono seats are well known for their compactness and ability to fit small cars. They work from newborn up.
Living in the deep south, we rarely need to zip our coats up all the way heck it was 70 here yesterday. So likely, I'll just be using my normal ones and leaving them open.
I have a small SUV, so the carseats are fine for my car, but DH has a smaller sports car. At this point, we're looking at trading in his car since even the smallest of carseats requires that the passenger seat to be moved all the way forward and he drives with his all the way back since he is 6'2. No way I could fit in either the passenger or behind his seat in those conditions since I'm 5'8. We're going to try and see how it works the first few months, but keeping our options open.
I had almost the exact same coat from Old Navy when I was pregnant with DS. I loved it and honestly planned to wear it when not pregnant. But I busted a seam under one arm and the stuffing went Everywhere. So I guess you get what you paid for, but it at least got me through the pregnant winter!
If you had frequent monitoring: Did your baby grow unevenly? Baby was 80th percentile size wise 16 days ago, and measuring 2 weeks ahead (25w when I was 23w). He's still off the charts long, but he's now measuring only 3 days ahead (I am 25w2d and he's measuring 25w5d) and 50th percentile for everything. His skinny little abdomen is bringing down the overall numbers (he's 13% there). MFM said she's not worried but that it requires consistent monitoring, and since my next appt is with the OB, I should have a monitoring ultrasound done there and they'll decide next steps. Anyone have a baby that did this?
Is the monitoring because of the size of the abdomen comparatively? IUGR concern?
I don't actually know- no one mentioned IUGR, but it was many many percentages off of each of the other measurements. He's over 100% for length, 87% for head, 98% for length of the long bones in his legs and arms, but then 50% for a lot of others. The only one that was off was his abdominal circumference. I have every 2 week ultrasounds normally with the MFM, but I happen to have an OB appointment before the next MFM appointment and she was very clear she wanted me monitored at that appointment too (but not concerned enough that I needed to come back in 1 week? bright side?).
ETA: My books and apps all say baby should be around 1.5lbs (so, 1lb 8oz)- baby is 1lb 12oz, so weight wise he isn't small.
Since we're talking about winter coats I just wanted to complain that I have a very cute coat with a nice gathered empire waist, just perfect for a baby belly...But it's now a tight fit across my boobs No way is it going to last through the winter!
