Does anyone have experience getting dental insurance through a small business? We have offered health insurance to our farm employees for quite awhile but never dental. We've had several people ask about it, and to be honest I'd like to have it myself.
Does anyone know anything about companies to look at (or avoid)? Is it crazy expensive and is coverage decent?
This may be a weird question, but you are all a great source of advice. I figured someone might know something. Thanks!
Another satisfied delta dental insured person. I've also had metlife at previous employers. No issues as an insured person, but from an employer's perspective I don't have any advice. I've appreciated the coverage- lots of money in my mouth, lol.
Eta: do you outsource your payroll? If so, they would be a good resource since many also can coordinate benefits.
You could see if your health insurance carrier also offers dental. Sometimes they'll offer a discount to pair it up.
Also, do you have an insurance broker? If so, they should be able to shop around for you, pull some options, and then have you decide the best option. Or as labbie mentioned, if you outsource payroll, a lot of companies will have an insurance division that could help you out.
Does your small business work with a benefits broker? If not, it may be worth it to work with a company like BBG to price out quotes from different dental carriers for you. Brokers are usually paid by the insurance companies and do not cost anything.
Thank you for the replies. We do our own payroll & work with someone local on health ins. I should ask them about dental, and if they don't then I can look at these companies or possibly a broker.
