The same light bulb on our dining room fixture burns out every few weeks, maybe a couple of months at best. It's a 5 bulb fixture. One other has been replaced a few times, and the other 3 haven't been changed since I changed the shades years ago. Is there anything I can do to try to fix it, or is it a wiring issue and we should replace the damned thing?

It's one of two issues, since the other bulbs are holding up fine.
It could be that your fixture/bulb connector has gone bad, which can happen if someone once screwed a bulb in too tight. If this is the case, you need to replace the fixture.
The other option is that the wiring to that one bulb is loose and causing the bulb to intermittently receive, essentially, a mini power surge, which blows them. You can fix this if you're handy.

Does it do it with cfl or led bulbs too?
I haven't tried with other bulb types - these are short length bulbs so they don't stick out too far and I haven't found CFL or LEDs with the right shape. I'll have to look harder and give them a try before replacing. DH is handy with electrical stuff so he could attempt to fix a wiring issue, too.
