We used the inglesina hook on high chair. It's been awesome. We could move it from the counter to the table, we traveled with it a few times easily, it folds down, and takes up very little storage space.
Oh and it was only like 40 bucks.
I second this. It is nice to have DD right at the table. I much prefer it to FP Spacesaver that we also have. It comes apart easily to wash as well.
Yes, you need something. I wasn't in love with our FP space saver, but I got used to it and now I don't even give it a second thought. Keep in mind that whatever you get will require lots of washing and wiping of the tray unless you get a hook on chair.
Another FP Space Saver rec. I got mine used from a friend and bought a new cover, it works great. We also don't have a real dining area and eat in the living room, the chair is nice because it can strap to any regular chair, or its also just fine to use on the floor and we sit down to feed DD.
We're tight on space in our kitchen too, and we're getting a fisher price spacesaver that just straps to one of our chairs. It's fairly inexpensive, $50 at Target.
Ditto. And no regrets, it saves us SO much space not having a 'real' high chair. This works fine for us.
It will definitely make your life easier. We didn't take anything to my parents over Thanksgiving and feeding dd was a pain. Much messier than usual and it took longer. It's nice to buckle her in, place some fingerfood on her tray, and then get the purees ready. Also, she'll sit there and play while I cook and it was her preferred seat when we were decorating our tree. It's really nice to have.
We used an Inglesina Fast Chair that hooked on the end of our countertop. It ended up working really well. I think I'm going to buy the Stokke Tripp Trapp because at 2.5 J has outgrown the Fast chair and it would be great to have a transitional chair.
