Semen softens the cervix. I know positioning might not be great but it's one of the few things that will make a meaningful difference. Don't bother eating weird things. They just give you intestinal issues.

I never made it longer than 10 minutes b/c it hurt. It gave me painful contractions, but never put me into full blown labor.
