Has anybody tried acupuncture to help get pregnant? I know it can't solve serious medical issues, but i was thinking it cant hurt? My endocrinologist said I should have no issues getting pregnant, and my thyroid levels are where they should be but I'm just I don't know, desperate. So has anybody tried it? Is it going to be a giant waste of my time and money? I am doing opks, and i'm thinking I should start temping next month as well. I just found out my H well be leaving again next year for another half year and I just really want to give us the best shot of conceiving before he leaves again.
I did acupuncture leading up to my successful FET. I probably won't be doing it again, though, since it was so expensive and all oop (some insurances cover it, mine doesn't). I'm going to try to follow a traditional Chinese medicine diet leading up to my next transfer and use the moxibustion device she gave me.
bina I want to say I started a month before my FET. I also continued going after my BFP until I knew we were going to lose the baby.
The TCM diet for fertility is basically based on cold and warm foods. Certain things are deemed cold, others are deemed warm. They want you to eat mostly a warm diet to keep your uterus warm and help with blood flow and implantation. There are a lot of resources online to see what foods fall into what category. My RE was also big on no cold drinks, no ice, only room temperature or hot drinks. No sugar, no processed foods, no caffeine. She also always wanted me to wear slippers or socks because warm feet = a warm ute.
I have a friend doing it. No success yet (she started a month or two ago), but she loves it. She said it's relaxing, it costs less than 1/4 the price of medicated cycles ($300ish per month), and she's enjoying taking a break from the hormones for a while. *Shrug*

First post on GBCN, yay!
I did acupuncture after 2 miscarriages and it definitely contributed to getting and STAYING pregnant (plus the western medicine stuff too). I'd highly recommend for certain people. It may not help every case but it did wonders for me.
I did acupuncture during my IVF cycle. I think I started 2 weeks before starting stims and then went about twice a week for the whole time I was stimming. It ended up being 6 sessions. I can't say if it helped me or not. I did get a high number of high quality eggs (in fact I was overstimulated and was not allowed to do a fresh transfer) and we got lots of frosties. But who knows, we might have gotten the same result without acupuncture.
I then went back again before our FET. This time I started 7 weeks before transfer (it was not supposed to be that early but the transfer got delayed due to my period not doing what it was supposed to do). I had sessions about twice per week again with the exception of one week when we were travelling. All together 10 sessions with the last one just a few hours before transfer. We were succssesful and I'm now almost 10 weeks pregnant but whether or not this is thanks to acu well who knows. I found it really relaxing and it helped with stress so that alone means I will probably go back again if we do another FET.
