10+. That includes normal ccs, store ccs, and gas ccs (helpful for tracking when our monthly gas budget is $600). We also have one account each the other doesn't have access too (for gifts and hobbies). Also includes a couple of cards DH has that are not in use but are the two oldest accounts he has. We also both have corporate cards, but hit 10 without counting those.
More than ten, for sure. I have eight of my own, I believe. H and I have five or so jointly. He has probably seven of his own. I know that according to CreditKarma, my credit score would go up if I had more credit accounts, including loans. So my 13ish cards plus mortgage, car loan, and personal line of credit with my credit union are still not enough to have the best credit score. Which is crazy, since I feel like I have a million accounts. I'm counting Visa/MC/Amex/Discover as well as store credit cards.
4. We each have primary amex cards, and we each have secondary Mastercard or Visas for places that don't accept AmEx. I'm not counting our corporate cards.

2: both mine and they are store cards with 0 balances. DH doesn't have any. Thinking about getting one to use for purchases and pay off each month to earn rewards points, I just have a hard time with that in my mind because we don't actually NEED a credit card.
10+ Between regular credit cards, store cards (furniture stores, Express, Amazon, Home Depot) and gas cards. Most of the store cards are for interest free purchases or other perks. We always have the funds to pay off the balances if needed but I prefer to hoard cash for home improvement projects.
0 I think we'd be too tempted to buy things if we had one.
I don't understand this. Do you not travel?
Not a lot. Maybe one big trip a year. We use our check card places. When we've gone out of the country we've mostly used cash. Our check card did work overseas though.

When we first got married, we each got a CC through our bank, it was the first CC for each of us. Then we got an Amazon Visa, an Amex and my H has a CC for the airline he uses 2-3 times a month for work. We'll close the first two CC's once we close on a house (don't want to mess with our credit now).

We have two credit cards. One we use every month for the cash back and the other has a super high limit, so H takes it with him when he is underway, just in case he needs it. We make sure both are paid in full each month. I was at dinner with some other Military wives and they were talking about how many credit cards they had. The average seemed to be between 10-15, all with balances. I was shocked.
10+ but we only use 2. The rest are store cards that carry $0 balance. Does it hurt your credit score if you never use them (after initial usage/payment)?
I think 9. Our longest standing personal cards each, 2 joint, I have 2 Amex's (one corporate and a Delta that is personal but I use as my corporate card), and 3 store cards (Target, Macy's and Kohl's).
