Dd1 announced last night at bedtime that we are not having any more babies because "daddy's penis is short, short, short."
"What?!"
"They cut it very short so you can't have any more babies!"
"Oh no honey. They cut apart a little tube inside his body so he won't have any more sperm."
"Yeah. But if daddy had a long penis you would have LOTS more babies!"
So there will be a sex talk and a re-explanation of what a vasectomy is going down in my house today.
LOL, I love DD1 and DD2. They are both perceptive and funny as hell!
:: Kirkette makes a note to be prepared for the questions that may come after the next play date. She's crafting a good response for how to answer Kirklette, when Kirklette one day asks, " Mom, have they cut daddy's penis short yet? Does he have a short penis now too? " . ::
lollll. Well the other thing we talk a lot about is "family business," i.e. some topics we discuss at home are fine to talk about amongst ourselves but we don't talk about them to anyone outside our home because it's family business, and family business is very private. Daddy's vasectomy is family business. Santa is also family business and to my knowledge DD1 has never even mentioned Santa to another child outside our home. I've heard her participate in a conversation with a classmate about Santa without spilling the beans. DD1 takes family business very seriously.
As you know, though, DD2 is a whole different personality so despite our emphasis on family business, I can't promise you will not be answering Baby V's questions about Mr. Page's tiny penis at some point.
In addition to the sick kiddo (who is now riding in the car with daddy in an attempt to take a nap), I am also watching a depressing sexual abuse training video so I can volunteer in the children's ministry at church. It's scaring the poop out of me as a parent.
My stomach bug has turned into a head cold. I can't breathe out of my nose and I feel awful. We have freezing rain and snow today and I am at work with a ton of things that need to be done. I would rather be home napping. I think I might sneak out early.
Also, all of my holiday decorations are put away and the tree has been taken down. Yay!
Jealous! I'm itching to take ours down but DH insists on keeping them up all week until after New Year's
I'm home alone NYE morning (H at work, kids at camp), and ours are going down. I cannot wait lol.
I noticed jro deactivated here and unfriended FBI/IG about the same time. I don't recall any drama, so I assumed she just wanted to get away from us all. But I could've missed something.
Today is our holiday lunch at work. YES, ON DECEMBER 28TH. And I paid for my own lunch because government! Be jealous, everyone.
I wish I would have saved some time to take this week off, poor planning on my part. It's so slow at work which sucks and is nice at the same time, no stress but long days.
DH made extra money this month but we are still way over budget! We need a January detox; food, spending and alcohol.
Both kids are napping and I'm hiding in my room. Normally I love my ILs when they visit, but I just need a break today. I'm even thinking of working tomorrow just for a few hours for a break.
My BIL and family are in town visiting SIL's parent and were going to come over today to hang out. But, 2 of their kids are sick so that's not happening. Everybody is bummed, but I don't need any more sickness. DD already seems like she's fighting a cold.
Also, I'm hangry. Luckily, DH is picking up lunch.

I am currently reading In the Heart of the Sea (it was just made into a movie, which I have not seen yet) and am just horrified by the whaling practices of the 19th century. Like, I almost had to stop reading. And all of the other wasteful, awful things whalers did like harvesting turtles from the Galapagos islands. Man, life was different back then.

So I just noticed a sign in our gym locker room bathroom that said "please do not color your hair or use any other type of harsh chemicals while in the locker room". Seriously- women were coloring their hair in the gym locker room?
Home with both kids today. Met a friend for a great breakfast. Came home and put DD down for a nap. Then put DD down. And now I'm taking an Epsom salt bath while watching Transparent. Glorious.
Home with P. He has an EI and bad cold (maybe RSV, who knows) and is a nightmare. He's basically cried all day when he's not sleeping. And when he doesn't feel well his muscle tone activates and he gets stiff as a board...which is uncomfortable and starts the whole shit cycle again.
I'm letting him chew on a pair of shoes right now for a minute of peace. Whatever.
We just booked our rental house on Cape Cod for this summer! I can't wait. It's right on the beach. It's going to be great to be able to just walk outside onto the beach and go back and forth to the house. The kids will have so much fun.
My IL's have been at our house less than 24 hours.
They have already put together DD's new table & chairs, and apparently my MIL was cleaning out my fridge this morning. I have no idea how long they are staying, but at this rate I don't care.
I got the coats back!! It's a Christmas miracle...lol. I know no one cares. Anyway I was looking at some pics from my sisters wedding and I will admit, DD1 is a blond mini me.

A is not spending the night with my dad and stepmom. We went to drop her off and she had a complete breakdown and was yelling "No! No mammaw, no poppie! Go home with momma!"
So obviously I didn't make her go. And stepmom was pissed. But you know, try spending some real time with her and she probably won't have that reaction.
I broke a crown I had on my tooth and had to get a new one this AM. Just what I wanted to spend over $400 on this time of year! I was secretly laughing at my nerdy dentists convo with the assistant about Christmas gifts and he was pissed off his ex-wife is remodeling two bathrooms in her home.
I'm off all week. Stella and I are going to the mall to return some items and buy myself new running shoes. I also need to hit the grocery store, I cleaned out the cabinets and threw out and and all junk and we are starting fresh. I've been counting calories for a few weeks but I need to ramp it up. I'm also going to take a corepower yoga class tonight. 7 weeks until St Croix!
I love corepower so much! I generally go six days/week. Which classes do you take? I have been trying to get to sculpt three days/week and then the other days rotate C2 and HPF classes. I think HPF is my fave--I love how mellow I feel afterward!
What times / days are you going to sculpt? I meant to ask you today!

I'm just doing c1 or c2 now. I took sculpt before I was pregnant but I have to work my way back up. The classes are so hard when you have no core left postpartum! I will be excited to make it back to sculpt:)

I love corepower so much!! Sculpt classes kick my hooray! My studio also used to have ride and yoga classes that were awesome/challenging, but they stopped them and removed the bikes from the studio.
