DH and I had plans to go out of town with friends. I was pumped! Bought a new outfit and everything! bam -- DH came down with strep, so we're staying home, womp womp.
Obviously DH didn't di this on purpose, but I'm seriously disappointed. I just wanted to be "John" and "Jane" today, not mom and dad.
This will also be the first NYE that I can remember not staying up until midnight. But I have a 4 month old who usually Wales up between 2-3am to nurse and I still have a cold, so I'll be going to bed by 9pm.

So its final. Literally every single attempt we've made this year to have a child free morning/afternoon/evening/night has been ruined. From sick kids to sick babysitters to broken down cars. Ds2 has a random fever that started yesterday 2hrs after his grandparents came to babysit so we had to come home from our lunch (cancel seeing star wars) and now cancel our new years plans. 2015 has been one disappointment after another.
So when is a kid considered PTed? Because bragplaint, it's been almost too easy. We even ran 2 errands yesterday, including a bathroom break at one store, and she pooped on the potty last night. I feel like it should have been harder? Or maybe we just waited too long and she was more than ready?
I think we're going to do some shopping today, we desperately need a new mattress for our room at the beach.
The big test is returning to daycare IMO. DS had a couple of accidents because he was too busy playing or doing art to get to the potty in time.
I thought it went well too, and now my son has night trained himself at almost 3.
We are taking down our xmas decorations and running errands today, not too exciting! I put beef stew in the crock pot for tonight and we have champagne so I'm excited for that!!
I'm working from home until noon and then need to go pick up the kids as daycare is closing early today. DH is working today, tomorrow and Saturday so I'm gearing up for some solo parenting the next few days. I'm considering taking the kids to a new years eve event at the local zoo and will then make myself a nice dinner and drink prosecco once the kids go to sleep.
E still got up 3x last night, but they were super quick "nurse and go back to sleep" so no big deal. His coughing is still there but seems to be lessening in severity.
However, DH is sick as a dog. I haven't seen him like this in our nearly 10 years together. And I'm working today and tomorrow. I need my village to take care of E so DH can rest! I already called my mom, so I think she may be able to help this afternoon and most of tomorrow. FX!
Its great reading thaf everyone's babies slept well last night. Is anyone else nervous for tonight? Like a possible ISIS attack?
We're taking the train Saturday from Naples-Milan then Milan-to our small town in Switzerland. Im a little nervous.
No. Isn't that their goal, to make people afraid every day?
My mom's sweet cat has been missing for a long time...maybe about 6 months or so. Last night someone posted on our local lost pets page a picture of a cat that looks just like him hanging around the Taco Bell that's about 3 miles, and across a busy highway, from their house. My sister and nephew are headed up there now hoping to see if it's really him.
DD has been so clingy during the day. I used to be able to put her down for a nap, but she wakes right up. Now I'm currently stuck under a sleeping baby. I'll wear her when I need to get things done, but I need to shower for my doctors appointment, so that's not really an option.

For the first time in many years we are going to someone elses house for New Years Eve.
Do you have any kids shirts you feel like are cursed? I feel like Chase has a couple that every time he wears them he gets a big stain on them, or spills something on them after only wearing for an hour.

A year ago today we found out we were expecting M! It wasn't the easiest pregnancy with an emergency cerclage and 5 weeks of bed rest, but so worth it. She is a wonderful baby!
Excited for our annual three course fondue tonight!

I'm pretending to work from home. It's been a slow week and ds1's school is closed so the boys and I are watching Paw Patrol while I press my keyboard to keep my session alive.
My ILs got me and DD an Etsy gift card for christmas, and I just blew the whole thing on decor for the kid's rooms. I'm so excited! DD's woodland-themed room is really coming together, I'll do a big AW post when it's all done. I got this wall branch decal for DD and chickens for DS. I also got these counting cards for DD, i'm going to hang them on twine on either side of her window.

Yes I do! DD had an adorable Christmas onesie that said "Dear Santa, I've been good this year, just ask my mommy." I loooved it. But without fail, every single time she wore it she had a diaper blowout very shortly thereafter. All 5 times she wore it, diaper blowout within 2 hours. I don't think anyone but me ever actually SAW her in it before Christmas (wilted)
H is all pissy I spent $5k this month. But that was mostly Christmas presents, so it's not like it happens all the time. And after paying off our credit cards we still have 5x that in our checking account, so we're hardly broke.
About to drop J off at my mom's for the day so that I can deep clean our apt.
I have a handyman coming over between 12-2 to hang artwork, our pot rack, and some lights. Excited to finally have our apt put together!
I'm on an all inclusive island which is awesome in theory but I have two kids. Bah. We went on a date last night and it was awesome. Babysitter prices are double tonight so we are going to sit on the patio and stream Phish.

Was it him?
They couldn't find the cat when they were up there.
DD's new carseat arrive today, 2 days early. It was super easy to install and she loves it. Really happy with our choice! I went back and forth on getting a cheaper seat or not, but the Clicktight Frontier is awesome. Really happy we went with it!

Buzzkill alert: Every year DH's family does a new year's list of questions/predictions for 2016. The questions are a mix of generic and family specific ones. MIL and FIL try to stay away from controversial subjects- e.g., my SIL getting a better job. Guess MIL didn't realize it was a little controversial to put whether I would be pregnant or give birth in 2016 (they don't know we've been trying).
Sigh.
Oh, and DH wants both of us to stop drinking in 2016 until I get KU.

Oh another thing - my DCP is closed today. She forgot to tell us until pick up yesterday when I mentioned that DH and I were planning a fun day at the movies, lunch, relaxing.
I was very certain this sentence was going to end in "and agree to baby #3 today."
Come do the Coeur d'Alene Ironman! I will cheer for you!
Maybe in 2017 to both of the above. How close is it to Sandpoint, ID? I have family in Sandpoint. For 2016, I'm doing (because I just hit submit) IM 70.3, in Arizona.

A few weeks ago ds got to decorate a cookie during Sunday school. Now he won't do it at home because "that's what I do at church." Sigh. Guess it's up to me.
