I just put the groceries away and sat down with a brownie and coffee. I had planned to have leftover beef and macaroni soup but that requires getting up and heating food. Too much work.

I have leftover roasted potatoes/sweet potatoes/beets from dinner. I'll probably make a munchy plate with that, some veggies and hummus, salami, and fruit. No idea what DS will have. Something I can pass off as a snack, because if I call it a meal, all hell will break loose.

For DD I have to call it dinner. She won't eat unless I call her to the table for dinner.

I have to make it very clear exactly which meal it is we are eating and that when it's over the food is gone. If we aren't eating at home it's even more difficult. I can serve the same thing here, out or in a park and if it's not on the table in our regular routine she thinks she hasn't eaten. It's crazy. Oh and tonight I was told "dinner was awful". So awful in fact she ate all of it. "But it's not my favorite." Ok. Thanks for eating anyway.

We had snack plates today. Aka: I'm lazy and need to grocery shop. Snack plate lunch is a hit. Gone in under ten minutes. Crackers, craisins, pears, snap peas, tomato, turkey, Swiss, gouda, grapes and milk. Bottomless pits these children are. Now, I probably confused my oldest for the rest of the day seeing as she wouldn't call it lunch.
Today I had a red velvet cupcake for lunch. Because it's my birthday!
Happy birthday!!! I like your birthday lunch style.
I am having leftover tikka masala (yummy!!) with leftover yogurt/cucumber/tomato salad. I ran out of rice, and am wishing for TJ's garlic naan to go with, but it is still fantastic. DS is having "dinner" today - PB toast, an apple, and a string cheese.
