Artur Davis anyone? Surely you are not ignoring him.
The fact that you (and the others who posted here) know the actual NAMES of pretty much every minority there (except the guy in the cowboy hat) pretty much proves the point. No?
My dad's there as an alternate delegate & he's Brazilian. Not sure if that counts Haven't seen him on tv though. And one of my parents' friends who is AA is a FL delegate but is also not famous.
Also, does Nikki Haley count? My husband is originally from southern India & he hates being lumped into the "Asian" category (he's Tamil, which is a Dravidian people) & gets really p.o'd when people bring her or Jindal up as being "Indian like him" since they're Punjabi with northern (Aryan) roots. Yup, he has issues.
heightsyankee, I'm usually on my phone so I don't get to see signatures. While I side with Obama on these items, and am glad to see his views finally "evolve" in recent months, I hope no one here has a short enough memory to forget that a Democrat, Clinton, actually signed the piece of crap Defense of Marriage Act into law.
It's all well and good that Obama "supports" it's repeal, but why did it take him 3 years to bother calling part of it unconstitutional? Why didn't he and the Democrat controlled congress bother pushing "Respect of Marriage Act" harder in the 111th with their majority in both houses? Barney Frank and Obama appointee John Berry didn't even support it. And while I'm general wary of executive orders, which are too often used to limit freedoms, I would applaud using one to protect rights, which he could technically do if he felt strongly enough about it.
Anyone can say they "support" gay marriage. I'd like to see what they actually DO about it, and I haven't been impressed.

If they are running for office, of COURSE people know their names. Why is this strange? Do you not know the names of dems running, especially if they would be the first or if they held a high office like a Rice? So, no.

Um... what I was saying is that the fact that the only minorities people are spotting out, in the whole freaking convention, are people whose names are known. Like, you can count them on one hand and know their names. Out of literally thousands of people, no randoms except the guy in the cowboy hat.
