We're debating whether to try to drive to Naples, FL for spring break. Almost 24 hours driving. We'd break it up a bit. Free place to stay, but can we handle the trip? Hmmm.
Might do a long weekend at our cabin Up North in February.
Travel all depends on DH's employment situation. We won't know if he escaped layoffs until late March.
But, we are thinking of a long weekend in San Antonio with DD. It's a 4ish hour drive for us and lots of fun things to do. I'm especially excited about Natural Bridge Caverns. DD loves rocks and nature and I think she will love it.
DH and I desperately want to get away just the two of us for a beach trip. We are thinking either St. Thomas or Grand Cayman in late June for 4 nights.
Probably a long weekend in Galveston for Thanksgiving.
ETA: wedding in New Orleans next month
Aw, Natural Bridge is awesome. I have very happy memories about going there as a kid. She'll love it, I bet!
We are taking the girls this weekend to a UND Hockey game. Not a big trip, but driving after school Friday, staying with a friend Friday night and staying at a hotel and waterpark Saturday.
I will take a weekend in May for my annual Marathon weekend.
I am planning a solo trip to Portland in August to go to my sister's wedding.

I love when people come to Portland! Where is she getting married?
We'll probably spend a few weekends at my dad's place at the lake this summer.
Maybe Wilderness at the Smokies in July or August.
We just did WDW and a Disney cruise in Nov. and DH and I are planning a kid-free trip for our 10 year anniversary in 2017, so nothing else big is in the works right now.

We are going away to nh in a few weeks for a 3 day weekend. We are going to ski one day then spend the next two days drinking wine by the pool/hot tub and napping in front of the fireplace in our room. Lol.
We are going away for two weeks from 6/31-7/13. We spend a week somewhere as a family and spend the other week with Dhs family in ny (eerily close to where lala goes, lol).
We do a lot of three day weekend trips with the kids to the beach, maybe sesame place again because that was a hit, thinking about doing the safari at six flags nj.
Maybe Disney in the winter/spring. I'm not sure how dd will take it so I'm waiting for my parents so if dd can't handle it she can hang with my mom/dad at the pool at the hotel all day.

I mean to ask you how your sesame place trip went - that was in the fall? Did you end up going anywhere else?
RE: Disney - I know I don't have a child with special needs but I will say I know there is a pretty large contingent of families with kids with various special needs, including autism, who prefer Disney for vacations. Every kid is different, I know, but maybe check out the message boards on disboards dot com if you want more info.

It went really well! We went one of the last weekends of the summer in mid September. It couldn't have gone better-crowds were really light and it wasn't so warm that it was uncomfortable to walk around but warm enough for the waterslides. Ds still talks about it and wanting to go back.
We ended up going to Gino's (I think I'm remembering name right?) in Philly for sandwiches and then drove home. We were going to go to beaches in nj but when I mapped out we had to go a half hour out of the way, it was only like 90 minutes into the ride home, and wasn't too warm to boot. We ended up finding a great park right off 95 in CT closer to NY and let the kids run around for a few hours.
One of my bffs whose son has asd did Disney last summer and had a good experience so I know there's potential. I'm mainly worried about dd tolerating the heat as it's a seizure trigger for her. I figure if my parents are there they can trade off on taking dd back to the hotel pool midday while the rest of us stay at the park.
