For sure. DD is cutting two teeth right now. They don't seem to bother her during the day, but she's had more wake-ups than normal. I've been giving her Motrin before bed the past few nights.
I find my kids are distracted during the day and don't need medicines as frequently then but overnight they become beasts when they are sick or teething. sometimes I also wonder if they have headaches or body aches when they are overtired and they just can't tell us.
Absolutely. I rather err on giving meds and not needing it than unintentionally leaving my kid in pain.
It will go in waves. Between teething and constant ear infections, there were weeks where DS got Motrin before bed. Every day. For weeks. But then he wouldn't need it for months, so I hope it all evens out.
felicity As long as my DD seems in pain and bothered, I plan to keep medicating at night. It's been at least two weeks and she's cut two canines in that time. I still don't see her molars but the giant swollen lumps make me think the are causing the latest round of problems. DD was in a great mood last night so I decided to skip the Motrin. It was the wrong decision. She was still awake 1.5 hours after bedtime whining and moaning when she normally goes right to sleep. There were also multiple wakeups and an earlier than normal morning wakeup. I think as soon as she lays down to sleep, she realizes how painful it is. In short, I don't plan on skipping the bedtime Motrin again for a while.
