Pretty much everything! Haha! The nursery is actually 75% complete and we have a car seat plus most baby things.....but it is all crammed in boxes randomly and I have to actually go through things and toss/wash.
I'm doing my hypnobabies but that is it for birth stuff so far.....
We go to Paris next Friday so my plan is to get my butt in gear after that trip . I'll be 35wks and both kids came close to their due date so I'm not too stressed! Plus there isn't much a newborn needs right away
Oh god, next week will be the start of the third trimester for me! So of course I haven't done much yet, but we did already pick our pediatrician and daycare, and have child birth class next weekend (happy Valentine's day! Lol).

I think I'm ready actually!
My to-do's are all "optional" -Mani/pedi tonight -Facial Sat (maybe?) -Prenatal massage Monday -I also need to figure out what I'm wearing home from the hospital. It's 70 here today and last week we had snow, so ya, who knows!
I thought I was ready but my list keeps getting longer the closer I get. We're snowed in so I hope to get a good amount accomplished.
To do: -Put together car seat (wash and assemble) -Clean new clothes from baby shower and put away -Prep crock pot meals -Deep clean 2 bathrooms and prep guest room -Buy last items on registry (medicines mostly) -Pack hospital bag (choose going home outfit for baby, may just send H home to grab care items since we live down the road from the hospital) -Have H finish to do list (install new shower head and black out curtains in bedroom) -Buy new cushions for glider -Buy a pack and play for downstairs
Done: -Nursery complete and ready to go -Bassinet ready by the bed
I still have a lot to do. We have three showers coming up (my office, H's office, and my friends) so we still have a lot of "stuff" coming. On my to-do list:
1. Get breast pump 2. Finish nursery (furniture is on order but hasn't arrived yet) 3. Pack hospital bag 4. Install car seat 5. Wash newborn clothes 6. Food and toiletry shopping
I've mainly been focused on working an tying up loose ends so that the last few weeks I can start to turn my focus to baby stuff.
When is everyone installing their carseats? I think last time I did at 36 weeks but I had him at 37 so that was useful. I'm only 34 so I have time to wait on that for a while.
pirate , You have important things done. Childcare and having a doctor is a pretty big deal.
swiftlyirun , I think I'll just go ahead and take all your to-dos and put them straight to the top of my list. Yours are better Oh, and if you aren't having a c-section I think yoga pants are usually a good bet since they stretch to many sizes and depending on fluids you could be bigger or smaller when you leave.
We've tested out installing the car seat (it's one with a base) but won't put it in until the baby arrives. I'm going to have to carseat ready to go so H can grab in on one of his trips home from the hospital.
-Move -Set up nursery (includes assembling all furniture except glider) -Pick a pedi (both walk throughs happen next week- were postponed due to our blizzard) -Buy dresser/ pick up things at IKEA that are organizational and storage related -Wash all of baby clothes and fold by size -Install carseat and have it checked -Order pump -Buy nursing bra/ tanks -Assemble gear (rock n play, bassinet stand, pack n play, swing) -Do BRU registry completion -Shop for postpartum care stuff for me -Pack Hospital Bag
We had our shower Sunday, so it currently looks like Babies R Us exploded it the living room. When did you all get the completion coupon from BRU? I'm trying to plan a trip around it.
We still have a ton to do:
-Wait for blinds and furniture to come in -Decide on curtains and artwork for the nursery -Pick a glider -Decide what clothes we're keeping and which we are returning -Wash baby clothes -Install carseat and get it checked -Order pump -Buy nursing gear/clothes -Assemble everything -Pack hospital bag -Put together baby medicine stuff -Put together postpartum stuff for me
mary, we moved when I was 35 weeks pregnant and it suuuuucked BUT it's so much better than moving with a newborn, right? I wish you all the best.
I'm 39+1 today. All the major stuff is done. My hair has been cut, my eyebrows threaded and I got a manicure/pedicure over the weekend. Priorities, man. I'd like to make a couple more freezer meals. I may outsource a deep clean of our apartment. It's not terrible right now, though.

Thanks! I will be 37. It is not good timing, but after almost 5 years of IF we weren't going to let a lease stop us from cycling, so it is what it is! Movers + friends to help pack + a small army of people re-assembling in the new place will make it happen.
bcv513mary I see you listed postpartum stuff, what would you suggest? I forgot to put this on my list (or even think of it)!
My hospital sends us home with dermaplast and a sitz bath but I wanted to make some padsicles. Other than that mostly just snacks and drinks so I don't have to go out right away
We need to buy a lot of stuff. If we have showers they will be at work and small so I don't anticipate receiving much. I'm still looking for artwork and curtains for the nursery. Order a breast pump, but have to wait until 36 weeks. Install the car seat and extra base. Pack a hospital bag eventually Wash clothes and sheets, but the dresser I ordered is stuck in Illinois for some reason. It was supposed to be here Thursday last week. There's probably more that I'm not thinking of.

Thank you! I'll see what my hospital offers and make a list of snacks to load up on!

Direct C&P with commentary from my college roommate who had a c-section (which is what I am having) 6 weeks ago:
- Magazines to mindlessly look through. You won't have enough brainpower to read a book because you will be tired but you need something to look through while you are at the hospital for days.
- The biggest maxi pads they have (yes, unfortunately, you will need these, rec: Always Overnights with the wings)
- Depends or underwear with depends in them that the hospital may provide (you will also need underwear for home after you get past the depends stage that doesn't bother your C-section scar, something higher waisted)
- Preparation H (if you don't already have hemmorhoids, you probably will at that point. C-sections make you constipated and that first time you go #2 after surgery is a true BITCH! It is worse than the surgery and the labor pains combined. You may need this for a while after as well.)
- Preparation H medicated wipes with witch hazel - for the reason above and to help you soothe it - Honest Company Organic nipple cream
- Nursing tank tops (You'll need at least 3 of these because if you are like me, you'll leak through a few. I got mine from Target.)
- comfortable pants like yoga pants because you need something to help hold your belly in (it will feel like your insides are about to fall out and you need something there for that for at least a month)
Thinking about this is stressing me a little because we are in the middle of ripping apart the nursery. But, even as a first time mom, I'm pretty focused on what traveljunkie13 says about a newborn not needing too much right away!
We need to: Nursery- finish sanding drywall, paint, put in flooring, set up furniture and organize.
Go through & wash up lots of hand-me-down clothes
Install car seat (when it arrives). Put together crib (when it arrives). Both are shipping. Pick up changing table & rocker.
Visit w/ daycare option 1 next week. I really hope everything looks good because I don't have an option 2!
Try to deep clean and have as much frozen leftovers and easy food around as possible!
My shower won't be until after baby comes, so I'm trying to sort out what necessities I need to buy and what I'm better off waiting for or deciding what I like & need first.
ETA: ask my insurance about breast pump. Thanks for those of you who listed this!
Post baby stuff for mom: nipple cream (bring to hospital too), Bacitracin for if/when your nips get torn to shreds (my LC recommended bacitracin and then washing it off with salty water before nursing), Motrin/Advil, giant pads, stool softener (start taking in the hospital, especially if you get pain meds; your provider should offer them but it's good to have them at home, too), nursing pads, nursing tanks.
I made padsicles last time around but I ended up not really liking them. I preferred the cold packs my hospital sent me home with and then I just wore regular pads and used the heck out of the hospital-provided Dermoplast.
Done: - Wash baby clothes - Clean nursery - Organize nursery closet - Visit eye doctor and get more contacts
To do soon: - FMLA forms!!! - Buy second baby monitor camera - Wash blankets - Get diapers, pads, Tucks pads - Order breast pump - Clean the house - Pedi this weekend and then one again the week of my due date (If I haven't given birth by then) - Schedule hair cut
To do within the next two weeks: - Get car seats, swing, RnP, baby bath out of storage (may just have DH do this while I'm in the hospital since space is so limited in the house) - Pack Go bag - Pack DS1's overnight bag (to stay with Grandparents) - Clean the house (this is never ending, right?)
I have so much to do. I want to redo the nursery, I should be getting her new rug in a few weeks and I may end up wallpapering one or two of the walls. I am changing up the floating shelves in there, and I really want to have a slipcover made for the glider but that might not get done. I might attempt it myself but seems like a lot of work. I also want to get new bedding and art but I'll have to convince my husband of that.
I need to go through all DD1's old clothing and wash and organize it. Get all of the gear out of the attic and wash it. We need to figure out our stroller situation, I'm trying to decide if we need a double or not. I'd love to clean out the freezer and fill it with portioned out meals.
Deep clean of the house and keep on top of it because I foresee going into labor in the middle of the night and needing our friends to come sleep over with DD until our family can drive in town.
I'm only 32 weeks, so I still have time, but I'm grateful for this post as a reminder to get things going.
Everything is pretty much done, which is good because my induction is in 14 days.
Still to-do are: 1) wash and put the cover back on the Rock and Play 2) figure out where DH put the dang Boppy lounger we had with DD 3) finish training my temp 4) get a pedicure and my hair done Saturday 5) get a manicure closer to my induction date when I won't have DD with me

I will be 39 weeks friday. I'm on day 2 of a freezer meal marathon. Probably will finish up tomorrow after another grocery run. We will have about a months worth of food so yay! I,have a few small things I'd like to clean and organize around the house. I'd love to give it all a good scrub but physically I don't have it in me. Other than that I think we are set!
Done: Pediatrician and daycare chosen. Bassinest set up. FMLA initiated. CPR/Newborn care class done. L&D tour done - preregistration complete.
Not done: Everything else?
Car seat needs installed. Crib needs purchased. Freezer meals. Order pump. Complete registry. Clean and organize nursery. Wash baby clothes and blankets. And like a million other things.
