I love it! I'm not sure about all clear glass, though. What about a smoked or frosted or bubble or whatever sort of glass. Something with some level of obscuration.
I think that looks really cool! Any chance on finding some cheaper glass? I know it's a long shot that the dimensions would work but Ikea has some glass meant to protect malm dresser tops. Or what's the cost of some thick acrylic tops?
I love the concept of the copper and I'm impressed as heck with the table (design and execution), but to be honest, the still-visible T-joints are not really to the level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that I've seen elsewhere in your home. I like mrs.jacinthe's suggestion to use frosted glass, but if the cost is prohibitive, I do like the wood one. I don't really care for the Leona much. It looks like it's missing the bottom shelf or something.

Nurse Cramer had stopped speaking to Nurse Duckett, her best friend, because of her liaison with Yossarian, but still went everywhere with Nurse Duckett since Nurse Duckett was her best friend....Nurse Cramer was prepared to begin talking to Nurse Duckett again if she repented and apologized.

How would you go about it not having visible joints?
I have no idea. Can copper be welded to avoid using joint pieces? Or would it have to be cast (or machined? I don't know what the right word is) that way?
I don't even know how to solder, so again, I am impressed with your handiwork.

I love it and want to make one now too. If you want obscured glass what about spray paint? I've seen some that imitate mercury glass; there may be something to turn it frosted, no?
I'm having a hard time picturing it with all glass. Is there an inspiration pic that has similar materials?
I do think if you go with wood it could tie that piece to the other furniture in the room so my vote was for that because I can't mentally imagine the glass.
I think I might go this weekend and salvage some fir boards to glue edge and make tops. It's wood, but the table will be the right size for the space (allowing a 3' path) and it will be super cheap at the yard. Like $20 instead of $200. Then I can live with it for a while and be more objective about it once I'm further from the building of it.
I was going to suggest wood, so obviously I think this is a great idea. ; p
I like the bones. I'd prefer solid tops to glass, though. Either wood, or painted the same white as the cabinets in the kitchen so it's not another "wood" look in the room if that's what's bothering you about it.
The only thing about the frame I don't like is the T's at the corners. Are they there permanently now or do you think you could change them out for elbows?
I like the size and shape, but I'm not in love with the t-joints at the terminating corners, elbow joints would look better. But I see that you epoxied it together, so changing joint pieces isn't an option. Add the fir and see how it looks then, although the idea of using spray paint to make faux mercury glass is pretty appealing to me, especially how it would look once the copper gets a bit of patina.

I think you did an amazing job, but it is more suitable for an industrial loft and doesn't go well in that traditional/formal dining room. Maybe it'll seem less out of place with stuff on it. It'd be great for an outdoor space if you have one!
