Every time someone shares a birth announcement on here, I get so sappy and can't wait to be pregnant again and see DS with a sibling. But then I remember how tired I am, or how I can't get ready when it's just DS and I, etc. and I get overwhelmed with worry that I can't handle another baby.
We started TTC this month, and it's all I can think about. Last time around, it was so exciting. This time, I'm a bundle of nerves.
I'm a terrible person. My BFF is due with her first baby in a few weeks. I love her but she's a total know-it-all, and I feel like she's going to be in for a rude awakening when the baby comes. I'm sort of looking forward to her being knocked down a peg or two.
patbutcher , What is a nursery that never gets used? I thought nursery was basically another word for "the baby's room"?
It is. And for the first few months most babies sleep in the parents room so I was making a joke (basically at myself) about spending so much time decorating the room and then not using it until the baby was 6 months old.
We didn't even have M's nursery finished until he was 8w old because I had a broken ankle. I felt so bad about it because I was seeing all these pictures of perfect nurseries on FB and didn't have one to share. Damn hormones.
We've delayed telling our nanny that we have to reduce her hours/pay at the end of the month as she is watching jr for the weekend. We think she will likely quit when we tell her and didn't want that to impact our weekend away.
DD hasn't napped all week. I'm in a mood. There is rainbow chip frosting in my pantry. Now I just need to find something to put it on...cupcakes take too long to bake but I don't have any graham crackers or saltines. Pretzels?
Lame alert. I'm pretty sure we're going to call dd Sylvia, which I love, but I have frequent pangs that we're not going to call her Nina. Except I think I'd be more upset if we didn't use Sylvia, plus H isn't wild about Nina. And we don't like Nina as a middle name. #realproblems
Dd 's name is Marlena and she would call herself 'Nina' before she could pronounce it. I was so sad when she stopped Nina and started Marlena

The other day I was asked point blank if I am a Mexican. This did not offend me. I actually am happy when someone notices that I am slightly different being of mixed race. I am actually a Filipino (Hawaiian) and German. People are shocked when I tell them that.
The infant car seat we have (new for DS1, who is 5) expires this month. I'm going to keep using it. DD is 5 months old and I'm not ready to give it up yet. I use it along with the snap-and-go stroller all the time for the older kids school drop off and pick up.
I figure she'll only be in it for another 3 or 4 months max.
cincodemayo - BTW, do you know how expensive that shit is?! We have a HDHP so we had to pay OOP for my H's rectal foam, and it was like $150. $150 for rectal foam! And there are only a handful of doses in a container. Ridiculous! It has been the most expensive medication we've had to purchase since going on the HDHP.

We used DDs 5 months past the expiration. No flames here.
@kirkette , wanna know who wishes he had 4 names? My H who has a very common first & last name combo and gets fucking pulled into a little room EVERY time we come back into the country. EVERY.TIME.
There are at least 3 men, in our tiny little town, who have both his first and last name. So, he has to go by his nickname, or his full name and middle initial. And don't spell his name with a "y" because, then all hell breaks loose, with the sad sad tears of being his firstname #17, all through out school.
Perspective ... he needs it!
I wish I had a 2nd middle name. There is another mom with my same name (nickname AND formal name) and a dd with the same first and last name as DD. Her DD is one year older than mine so I always have to confirm that we are talking about/registering/paying for the right kid. It's really annoying.

I don't like DS's middle name (he's not born yet).
I will never tell DH and have absolutely no hesitations using it because of the meaning behind it. It's one of those things I'll never tell anyone (except on here). A name that has meaning and strong significance trumps almost all IMO, so I'm just going with it. I love his first name, which also holds a lot of meaning, so that matters more since that's the name everyone will use.
