DS is circ'ed (done at 2 days old) and it is obvious that his foreskin has grown back a bit. He also has a lot of scar tissues. I brought this up with a ped and she basically said that the doctor cut it too short, and if it doesn't detach by 4-5 years old, then we should be referred to an urologist. She suggested putting on vaseline until it hopefully detaches (??).
I think I remember some of you talking about this happening with your boys. What did you end up doing? I just worry about DS being made fun of when he is older. I also feel bad that maybe it was our fault for not taking good care of it (we used vaseline at every diaper change until it healed at like 3-5 days).
This happened with DS1, he had adhesions--the pediatrician was able to pull it back and had us do it every bath. He's 6 1/2 now and has no troubles at all.

How old was your DS when the ped did this? Was there a lot of bleeding? I've asked 3 doctors who have seen him (we are still trying to find a ped that we like) and most of them have said that his penis will just grow as he gets older and it won't look funny. But it's clear that there are adhesions (I was looking for that word, thank you!).

How old is your LO? It looked like C had a semi-attached foreskin for months and months. In detached on one side and then finally on the other. I didn't mess with it and it fixed itself. I also had some major concerns about his penis and asked about it at every appointment. Lol. I can't remember when it looked better, but I would say by a year.

He turned 2 in December. I've been asking about it at every appointment since maybe 6-9 months old.
A question: do uncircumcised penises have skin attached to the bottom of the head? Just wondering if DS just has half circ'ed one or if this is not normal either way.

My DS had some adhesion issues with his circumcision except the doctor that did it didn't take enough off. He said he likes to be conservative with how much he takes off and sometimes that causes some adhesion to happen. He prescribed some steroid cream and directions to pull it back a few times a day and it didn't work. We ended up being referred to a urologist and at about 18 months old he had a quick surgery fix the adhesion. We were told that the earlier we do it the better, because as he grew, he would eventually end up in pain every time his penis became erect. The surgery wasn't a huge deal and he is totally fine now. Everything looks completely normal.
J had adhesions and our first pedi pulled the skin back to break the adhesions and it bled and j screamed bloody murder and it still reattached. we eventually left that practice for unrelated reasons and the new pedi told us to leave it alone and it would painlessly self-correct, and it did. i still feel so awful about it.
My DS actually had too little taken off, and had adhesions. The pedi todl us to use vaseline a few times a day at diaper changes (retract, apply), and gave us a prescription cream to help release when it became adhered.
By age 2 I think he was pretty much back to normal.

He was 9-16 months, not a lot of bleeding but his weren't that bad.

Ours said the same thing. You just retract it, not like to the point of detaching- right?

K had adhesions and a buried penis for awhile.
We freaked out at first because our doctor was worried he had a micropenis due to the fact it was so buried, but he does not and it has since mostly self-corrected.
Once he started getting more mobile and walking, the adhesions pulled away on their own.
You can help it along by gently pulling back on the foreskin and applying Vaseline.
underwaterrhymes, DS' was buried too for a long time, he was a huge chunk. I think that's what caused the adhesion and/or the doctor cutting too short. They kept saying it'll be fine when he slims down. But it's clear he still has adhesion.

K is almost 3 and it's only now seeming as though it's almost completely corrected. Try not to worry. It's super common and usually corrects on its own.

I was concerned about my sons as well and it had adhered itself. The doctor gave us a steroid cream to put on it and that seemed to help. If we notice it we now put Vaseline on it.

I just gotta say I guess I'm lucky with my two boys that neither of them ever had this problem, and I didn't even know this could be a problem, and for the record my legs are clamped together in empathy with all your little boys' little peens. Yowch!

I wouldn't worry about him being made fun of as he ages. I mean, who would look closely enough to notice? In this day and age, there is enough variety between circumcised and uncircumcised kids, I doubt anyone would even realize.
I wish I had more to add about he best way to help, but I think you got good advice in this thread and need to follow medical advice with that regard.
I've been wondering this same exact thing. My son has the and thing going on and our pedi says it will correct itself over time with his baby erections. I keep kicking myself because I feel like I am responsible some way or another for this happening.
