Yeah, I think that's the best order of business. Figure out a spot, then find the shape/size frames you want. Then print off the pics (if you need to) in the correct sizes.
If you already have professional pics with sizes already determined then you have to work around that. We have mostly white or silver frames. I don't like things looking too dark and heavy.

This is on a wall in the living/dining room area I just buy cheap black frames in various sizes. Most are from Walmart or dollar tree. I just order our professional pictures in various sizes and then buy frames. Forgot the picture
We have different sized canvas prints of A and our nephews on the wall going upstairs. We have a huge framed portrait on the mantel in our living room, (I forget what size). We also have other canvas and framed prints around the living room and the rest of the house. Some of the frames were bought to fit prints we ordered, and some prints were ordered to fit frames I liked.
We installed a fake plate rail and put photos up. I need to fill it out a little more and add pictures of C. Sorry for the crappy pics. Lighting right now is terrible.
ETA I also do little vignettes around the house like this one in our living room
We don't have a gallery wall or anything. I put most in our 2nd floor hallway. I use the same frame for all photos on walls through the house - just different sized frames and mats (photos on shelves I use different frames). I like the look of fewer photos so they stand out more - here are some bad pics of our upstairs hallway. The main floor we don't have photos on walls because we have mostly paintings on display, but we do have them on things like our living room shelving (another bad pic)
