I would paint anything that's a vertical surface in a color, and anything at an angle or normal horizontal ceiling white.
Although now that I look closer, is there not a defined angle where the ceiling starts to slope? If that's the case, I'd consider adding a chair rail trim at the lowest height that the ceiling starts and go all the way around the room with it, painting a color under and white over.

I don't think you can go wrong as wrong as you're consistent. Do all vertical the color or I'd even paint just the top horizontal surface white and everything else a light color.
Our attic in our old house is very similar. The "ceiling" starts at the angle. You could do blue maybe one or two shades darker on the bottom and lighter on the ceiling. Ours is white and if we had stayed it would have become our master at some point. But the next owner can decide when we finally get it on the market.
I also agree with a berber. Have you ever been to Remant City? My parents got a gorgeous berber for super cheap. They had it bound into area rugs but they cover their entire 36' by 24' living room. My sister also had a lot of luck there. There is two locations, one north and one south.

We have used Behr Cornerstone in the past and it is a very pretty creamy yellow. It is light enough you could do the entire room but there is enough contrast that you could keep it to vertical spaces.
I am no help with carpet. When we went to our builder's design center we asked the person "what is the most popular and neutral carpet you have?" She gave us the one they put in most of their model or inventory homes. That was it. We had no choice on brands.
When I have seen similar rooms on decorating shows, the designer usually say to paint the entire space one color, although I have seen the chair rail thing done too....usually with the darker color low to keep the space feeling open.
I am not a person who finds yellow cheery, so my inclination would be toward a grey, greige or blue that still reads as a color rather than white, and has a decent LRV.

I have a room sort of like that and I'm painting the angled parts the wall color, but that is because there is flat wall next to it on the other corner.
Cool. I think I need to paint it all one color, I really don't want to add more trim, and the wall curves instead of having a sharper transition to the angled part
If it curves into the ceiling in places, I think I'd do this also.
I like the idea of a cream with a bright white trim around the floor and windows.
If it's going to be the kids' playroom, i'd definitely do a light colour and not white, cream, or greige. Give it some personality. I would either do the chair rail suggestion or paint all vertical & curved surfaces one colour and then white or same colour light tint on the ceiling.
I had a room like that in my old house, and the previous owners had painted it as a playroom for their kids. They did cool murals on the bottom 2 feet or so and the rest a pale sky blue, walls and ceiling included.
I painted over the murals (I'm not 5) and stuck with the blue and it looked great and felt open.
