My son recently asked me why the sun is during the day and the moon is at night. I tried a (very) rudimentary explanation only to be met with "why" twice more. Finally I resorted to "because that's the way it is." After about ten seconds "but why it like that, Mommy?"

When my kids get on a "why" roll I just say "because it's Thursday!" Or whatever day it is. Can't argue with that!
