The character of April didn't bother me sooo much. IT was the stupid storyline. No, a parent (who never told the other parent that the child existed) doesn't then get to claim second parent has no rights and refuse to let a teenager meet her father's fiance. That's not how this works. THAT'S NOT HOW ANY OF THIS WORKS!!!

Get a lawyer, Luke. Geez.
Really, April wasn't horrible - it was freaking Luke. And Lorelei! She became super needy (although I guess pushing off a wedding is perhaps a good reason). And honestly, it made no sense that Luke would be cool with the whole town meeting April and NOT introduce her to his fiancee. I was so frustrated with both of them in season 6.
A post from this announcement on the Gilmore Guys page, "As if our country wasn't divided enough." LOL.

It really doesn't make sense to have luke and lorelai together and not have Luke's daughter in the picture in some capacity. Let's just hope that since she's an adult now, she's no longer being used a a cheap plot device.
If ASP was so mad about the way the show went after she left, why in the world would they bring back that horrid story line?
She was introduced in season 6 by ASP
God, I hated season 6. I know people aren't a fan of season 7 because ASP wasn't the showrunner, but I feel like they did the best they could putting Band-Aids over gaping wounds.

Rumor is she knew she was leaving, so she wrote them into a shithole on purpose.
