I make about 1/3 of our total HHI, although I carry insurance for DD and I. I work part time (.5 FTE), but have a higher hourly rate than DH. He also earns overtime pay.

He is catching up to me. I used to make substatially more than him. I make more now but this thread made me calculate the percentage... I make 53% of our hhi... He is up for a promotion soon and will likely pass me.
Sole breadwinner. Also default parent and homekeeper. For as long as we've been together. It's a lot of work. A lot. I don't shy away from manual labor and I don't have much of a need to entertain myself but I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm resentful after carrying so much of the load for so long. I'm spread really thin.
I didn't think the GBCN population would be anything like the US average/median.
Are you a single parent or is the dynamic in your marriage really hard? I don't know how you do it. I depend on my DH being a good partner to get everything done and maintain sanity.
And I am a little surprised, too. I would guess that all of our incomes are much above the national average, and it's only the comparison to spousal salary that makes it seem like we're close to the national distribution.
Make less than 25%, but also spent way less on my total education than DH did. I wonder how the percentages correlate to percentage of women getting professional degrees now? Of my female friends who are the primary breadwinners in their marriage, they are all lawyers with the exception of one.
Our base salaries are relatively close, but I don't get much of a performance award, while DH gets one that's close to 50% of his salary. With his yearly bonus included he makes a lot more than me.
