It wasn't from a kind stranger but it was just as shocking because it's from my sisters.
When I took my mom OOT last week, I did it without expectation of financial assistance from anyone because A. I didn't/wouldn't ask for it and B. Neither of my sisters have ever contributed a single penny to a major expense for our parents if I offered to pay.
My Dad tried to pay and I refused. I told him that he and my mother have done enough for me in my life that this was the least I could do.
My sister sent me a text saying "Go look on your porch" I thought it was going to be some of her homemade chicken soup but it was just a little bag with a bow on it.
DH brought it to me and I opened it and it had a bag of Reese's PB cups in it and a check with a note thanking me for taking our mother to TX.
I am completely speechless. I told DH what it was and he couldn't believe it either.
In addition to that check, my younger sister also deposited ALL of the money she owed me from the past year.
This is is the nicest thing either of them have EVER done for me, Ever.

That was a really nice thing to do. I love the call and "look on the porch." The bow and chocolate was icing on the cake. The whole thing is just too cute. And yay for surprise money!
