Ok, so lately if I am not pooping at least once a day, I not only get painful gas but I get this uncomfortable pressure in my abdomen, higher up near the top of my rib cage. I don't know what is going on, but I don't like it. I mean, what can suddenly cause this to happen? Of course, my worst fear would be that it is a mass of some sort. :/
No. I drink more water than I used to. I do have bubbly and painful gas that started in my last pregnancy and has not stopped. But this odd, not painful, just uncomfortable pressure feeling is new.
I should probably just go see my GI, but I fear needing another endoscopy and I just do not tolerate them very well. At all.
Getting old? Not that you're old, but you know what I mean.
I feel like my insides just don't work the way they used to.
Is the gas just pain or are you actually passing gas? What are your BMs like?
Well, some of my gas now has this bubbly feeling, on my right side, up under my ribs. BUt at times is so painful I cannot even stand up straight and the pain radiates up through my shoulder.
But this is just pressure. Like a ball of gas is sitting there my chest. I do pass gas, thank God H has no issues with this. lol
BMs, sometimes hard and painful and other times just loose. :/

Are you on a probiotic?
I had the bubble guts and alternating hard/loose poops along with gas (I know that feeling of gas pains up into your shoulder).
I've been taking Florastor and it has helped so much.

I am on probiotics. Maybe I need to try a different brand.
I poop several times a day. I am on so much iron too yet still no prob pooping. Just about two weeks ago I got that horrible pain near ribs too but on the left side only. Turns out I got my period the other day I think that its gas.
Gallstones? My sister recently had an attack, a few nights of mild discomfort then extreme abdominal pain in the upper right quadrant.
I was thinking this too. That is where my pain was when I had my gallbladder attacks. OP, do you notice this after you've eaten greasy/fatty foods (pizza, hamburgers...)?

Third this. Sounds like gallbladder to me too. Op, have you had an u/s on your gallbladder before to see if you have gallstones?
Everything you are saying reminds me of when I had gallstones.
One of the biggest reasons women have gallbladder attacks is from having babies back to back within 2-3 years. (Drastic weight fluctuations are the biggest indicators).
Worst gas pain ever but as soon as they diagnosed it as gallbladder sludge and I had surgery....it was gone!
PS: it was misdiagnosed as Appendicitis and they removed that before finding my real cause. If you end up at a doc, request an abdominal ultrasound.
I vote for probably normal in association with gas. If I get it bad, I'll feel it in my rib cage or all the way up to my shoulder. I remember when it first started happening back in 06 it had me worried and didn't know what it was, but now I'm used to it. I'm not always regular and go everyday. You might try some gasx or something for acid reflux.

I had an u/s last year, I think, and everything looked ok. My gram had to have her gallbladder removed so I thought maybe that's what was going on.
It might just be due to constipation. I will try to use some colase and miralax to see if that helps.
I had an ultrasound with positive Murphy's sign (pain) and evidence of thickened walls. I ate no-fat until it was removed (with no more symptoms unless I cheated or forgot and snacked on my kid's food) and all symptoms resolved after removal. It was odd.
