It took me awhile to get used to unscented laundry detergent. It just doesn't seem right...clean should smell GOOD. But now, when I go to my mom's, I can't believe how smelly my clothes are! I feel like I smell like them all day. I now love that my clean smells like...nothing.

I usually buy unscented laundry detergent so I would say nothing as well. But if you have to scent it, I'd say lavender. Mrs. Meyer (I think?) makes some of their products in a basil scent that would be awesome in laundry.
I love lavender and jasmine. I feel like patchouli is a scent that you either love or hate. Even the slightest whiff makes me gag, and I can't imagine my clothes smelling like it. I might have a special snowflake nose though!

I feel the same way about patchouli. Way too strong, especially for laundry.

I'm curious how you started doing all of this. I loved your products and sometimes think I would love to make some of my own products but where do you begin?
