I've heard good reviews, and I'm surprised, because I thought it looked so stupid in the trailers.
Yes, DH and I were rolling our eyes at the preview. Then I heard a critic on npr rave about it and now I want to see it. Thanks for the added recommendation!
On another board I'm on a woman took her 10 year old bc he's so mature. She's insane right?
My 9 year old really wants to see and I laughed at him. He's not very happy with me right now. I'm fairly breezy over what I will let him watch, but you can tell from the previews (and the R-rating, something they rarely give out now) that this is a big no for that age.
I, however, am going tonight to see it and can't wait.

My STBX went to a midnight showing last night and he was just telling me that there were kids there younger than our oldest (9). I'm surprised they didn't leave.
Even Ryan Reynolds said (as himself and as Deadpool) that this is NOT a kid friendly movie. It is based on the very graphic, very violent graphic novels. It's not like the Avengers, which my 3 year old has seen most of.
H went at 10 pm on Thursday, because they started showing it at 7. He is a HUGE Deadpool fan, had a countdown on his phone, etc. He loved it. I'm hoping to go next weekend for my birthday.

I don't understand taking kids to movies like this. I mean, why? Why do it? It's a simple thing to avoid, you just don't fucking go. It's so much easier to stay at home than to do things, especially with children, so these people are going out of their way to bring these kids to this incredibly inappropriate movie.
There were no young kids in our theater. But the guy next to me brought his maybe middle aged son. About 10 minutes into the movie he turned to his son and said "I should NOT have brought you to this movie!"
It was so funny though. My husband and I loved it.
I know what you mean, but this is cracking me up. I'm picturing some grandpa looking over at his grown son.

My 9PM showing last night didn't have any young children. There was an elderly couple though and the wife turned to the husband and said "What movie is this again?" He answered Deadpool. She had no idea what that was and then they both ended up falling asleep.
I loved it. It was exactly what a Deadpool movie should be.
