I think I am skipping out on a girl's night tonight. I can't decide. At first we were going to go out. But then it turned into going over to someone's house. And then it turned into being like at 7:30 instead of happy hour because she has to put her kids to bed.
I just don't want to go out that late and sit at someone's house. If we are being honest I like to have a little buzz by 7:30 on a Saturday night and i can't do that on either end if I am driving. Plus it is fucking cold out.
I am mostly annoyed with one of my friend's husbands who decided he wanted to go out, meaning she had to be home with the kids. It killed our plans.
But I haven't seen these people in forever and I certainly could use friend time.

DH is attempting to get my 10 year old to wear something over his soccer uniform, since the "real feel" right now is 5. I'm kind of thinking of just letting him get frostbite and learn a lesson since I'm over this argument. The 2 year old is playing with his Mega Blocks, although cleaning it up later is going to be a joy. At some point we need to go out and do stuff besides a soccer game. DS1 is in Cub Scouts and our Blue and Gold is next weekend. Each den has to contribute a raffle basket as a fundraiser and we need a few more things for ours. The theme is "Couch Camping" which I stole from some website which I didn't book mark and can't remember and can't find on google. So far we have a cozy fleece blanket, a mini indoor s'more's maker, and I'm getting the chocolate bars, graham crackers and marshmallows during our food shopping trip tomorrow. Any other ideas?
ProfessorArtNerd, I actually enjoy going to the zoo in the cold weather. We stay in the indoor exhibits and since it's so freaking cold it will probably be dead. Do you have a membership? The one nice thing about having one is you only need to go 2x to make it worth it (we get a Family Deluxe) and I don't feel about staying only an hour if it winds up being too crowded or too cold.
Butting in, but I live one town over from Aberdeen and there's really nothing to do there lol. Unless you meet during baseball season and actually go to a game at Ripken Stadium....great minor league game experience. Mamie's Cafe is awesome, but it's a little hole in the wall. Not trying to discourage you, just wanted you to know the reality lol. If you wanted to still meet somewhere in Harford County though, let me know and I can suggest something. I was born and raised there
yeah....i've been looking around aberdeen and elkton and striking out. hmmm... what would you suggest?
eta: i didn't realize it's only 2.5 hours all the way there!! shoot! we can certainly come closer than elkton!
When we meet our friends from Philly we meet in Havre de Grace. It is cute and has more options than Aberdeen.
I heard a commercial on the radio for a local restaurant that is giving away free pitas as part of a promotion. Of course I immediately thought of ML - lol!
I'm so bummed at how much Smashing Pumpkins tickets are. It's really hard to justify $275/ticket. There are cheaper, but they are obstructed view. Ugh.

Ella had dance and then I had an awesome Zumba class. I'm so used to Zumba being my "easy " workout, but this class is so good and coupled with how out of shape I am, it feels so great. Plus, I hit 10k steps by noon and felt accomplished lol
Other than that, Saturday tidying and then date night. Ella is sleeping at my parents'. DH already gave me a dozen roses, so I guess I'll go as far as to shave my legs.
I made a GOT Valentine's Day card for J. The outside is really sweet and cute. The inside is a dirty GOT themed poem. It's so dorky and funny. I want to wake him up and give it to him right now lol.
Just when I was saying that Theo will be in diapers forever, he started using the toilet! All day long, except for one poop. I started using cloth diapers again and he hates the wet feeling, so I guess he just decided that using the toilet is the better option, lol.
And as I'm typing this, I'm like "good god, no one cares about my kid's bathroom habits", but I'm just too excited about it!

I care, because we are basically living the same life, lol. DS2 finally potty trained over Christmas break. It's so nice! I think we're aiming for summertime for DS3.
We are supposed to go to my bil's for drinks for his birthday, which was 2 weeks ago and it's about 2 hours away.. I told Dh he can go if he wants but I'm staying put. He doesn't want to go either so I think we will do steaks for dinner.

That's awesome! I was originally planning for summer, too, then he just decided to do his own thing. I'm not complaining, lol.

I need to take a break from getting eyelash extensions since they ruined my real lashes. The salon said I could put my contract on a 3 month hold, but I have to go in and fill out paperwork first. Annoying as hell. Also I've been hiding in my room all day because I just can't deal with my mother today.

I really hate that I'm so socially awkward. I just want to bury my head in the sand and not interact with anyone, but my kids want/need friends, so fuck. I'm stuck with navigating interactions with others, ugh.

Can you get some kind of candle thing which looks like a lantern?
I hope everyone feeling sick or crappy feels better soon.
