Don't go Crazy, formal night s on cruises are no big deal. I've been fine with a black strapless dress. We've gone on celebrity many times which tends to be dresser and nobody dresses up really fancy except a few
When I need a nice dress for an event Soshanna dresses are my go-to. I buy them from a boutique near me but they are online and at higher end department stores.
Rent the runway! Not sure if you can keep them for a week though?
I already checked -- the longest is 8 days, which wouldn't work for me. If they arrived the day before we flew to the departure port, I'd have to return them while we're still on the cruise.
Ditto those nights not really being formal. They are what you make of them so some people are dressed up, some (most) not so much. I bring a maxi dress or a shift dress because they're easy to pack.
It depends on how much time I give myself. I usually have them made. If I'm in a bind the week of the event, our Macy's, Nordstrom Racks, or Ross has served me well.
Getting a dress made for you sounds so luxurious. You'll have to show me your ways sometime.
