How long does the 6w growth spurt last? T nursed 18 times Friday, pretty much continuously from 11am til 8 pm. Yesterday was better but he still cluster fed from 4-7:30 pm. We have dinner reservations at 5:30 pm but I hate to leave him with my parents if he'll be clustering/fussy the whole time.
6w was both my kid's biggest growth spurt by far. They were on the boob pretty much constantly for 3-4 days. I would go to dinner. Your mom can always call if the baby is uber fussy.
Question, when is it concerning that an 11mo hasn't had a wet diaper? DD STTN for the first time ever last night, but her overnight diaper was dry (huh?). When should I be concerned that she hasn't peed? She's nursing and acting normally this morning.
My DS seems to have a lot of chafing in his skin folds, armpit and neck. I wash the areas every day and dry thoroughly afterward but they are still irritated. Anyone have a recommendation for something that can help?

I put Aveeno lotion in DD's skin folds. The oatmeal in it is very soothing for her. I would also wash less often, maybe every 3rd day. Soap can be drying.

DD's growth spurt lasted maybe 5 days, but to be honest, she fussed and cluster fed in the evenings for a few months.

My DD did this a lot for the first 18 months of her life. She normally peed a huge pee within 30 minutes of being awake. My pedi wasn't concerned and said it was actually a sign that she would be easy to night train. Haha on her! We now are potty trained, but wake up with the biggest diapers.

I would start to worry if she doesn't have a wet diaper in the next 2-3 hours. DD wakes up dry sometimes after STTN.

boiler717, It was a full 7 days with both kids. Worst week of the newborn stage. Hang in there.
@supergreen, DS didn't pee for 18+ hours (he was about 15 months old), and I was worried and called the doctor. They told me to push fluids (I was, and he was nursing a ton), and if he had no other signs of dehydration to just wait it out a little longer. He finally peed a couple hours later. This happened a couple of days in a row, and then he was back to regular wet diapers. If she is nursing and acting normally, I would just wait it out.

@lapsha - I had an impossible time getting the neck fold to clear up for R. Aquaphor, lotions, powders, nothing would work. My ped recommended the tiniest bit of antifungal cream. It cleared it right up.
Anyone else's kids sleep more on weekends at home than they do during the week at daycare? P takes 2 naps at daycare, a short morning one (30-45 min) and a longer afternoon one (1-1.5 hours). At home on weekends, she takes a 1.5-2h morning nap (currently on 2.5 hours but she didn't sleep as long last night as she usually does), and a 1-2h afternoon nap.

Yes, and it's glorious. DD takes a 1.5-2 hr nap at daycare, but she'll often hit 3+ hours at home on the weekends.

Start with washing less and lotion. If that makes it worse, it's probably a yeast rash. You can see a pedi for a Nystatin rx or get lotramin AF OTC to use s few times a day and baby powder more frequently to keep it dry.
