Yes old navy knock off natives. They have a Mary Jane style for girls that is great. Dd loved them, I'm going to buy them in 3 sizes this year so we will have some for the "winter," too.
DD2 has a pair of Pediped Flex shoes that are machine washable and great for the splash pad. I can't find them on the website right now, though. They are like mary janes but with more venting on the sides so they are great for summer.
Both girls had something similar to this from Carters too.

We just do regular Crocs. I buy a couple of pairs for each of them when I can get them for $15 each. I was a Crocs hater but DS1 has XW feet and Crocs are the only sandals we can find.

I love these! They can get wet and hold up well?
Yep! They are a lot like crocs, just not bulky. DD loves them and could easily put them on herself at 2.
I'm sure there are plenty of great sandals that are not Keens, but there are different styles of Keens that are more or less bulky. We had the Seacamp ones last summer and they were awesome, but we tried the Newport ones on and those were much bulkier.
Stride Rite makes a pair of sneakers that are similar to Keens in style, but much less stiff and not as heavy. DD1 had these last summer and they held up well. They didn't get too stinky either, although we did have her wear socks with them if she was wearing them to daycare (super stylish, I know).
My girls love the natives. They're the only easy summer shoe I can get them to wear (that aren't flip flops). I used to think they were butt ugly, but they've grown on me.
Just ordered the O/N ones! With a coupon code they were $10 each. I had to guess on size and did pink for DD and blue for DS. They grow slow so hopefully these last all summer.

How is their traction?
Not awesome. They aren't my first choice for the playground but they are doable in a pinch. They are fine on our backyard playset (wood) and for running around, just not for those coated or metal playsets, especially if your kid likes that curved ladder thing that has no traction on the bars. I'm picky about playground shoes, though, and always make her wear something with a rubber sole.

I get them for my girls every year as their spring/summer play shoes. For the pool and beach, I also usually get them Crocs; they like the Shayna glitter style. I tried Natives last year but they didn't fit their foot shape right. Too bad because I think they're adorable!
eta: I was eyeing these Crocs as an alternative to Natives since I know Crocs fit my kids well:

Thanks! That confirms that we'll stick with keens for now. The natives are cute though!
