I tried to make a poll but it didn't work. I'm hooked on buying jackets for my kids and I think I have a problem! I justify it because we're Canadian and have 4 true seasons, one of which is really snowy and one really rainy. Right now DS has 4 jackets (different weights/purposes) and DD has 6! Yet I still want to buy more...

1. Both the kids have the ll bean 3 in 1 coat. Put all together it makes one heavy winter coat but also contains a fleece coat and a raincoat if taken apart.

I just googled it - it's cute! We need more cold protection than that, sadly, or I'd be tempted to add it to my collection!
3. We live in the south and it's already back up into the 80's here so having 3 is kind of ridiculous. Oh well. She has one fleece, one every day light weight jacket, and a raincoat.
My DS has 3 - a ski jacket (only worn when skiing or when he goes to visit my inlaws in Colorado), a fleece jacket (worn almost daily here in the mornings during winter), and a raincoat.

My kids have four each (except for the baby). They each have two fleece jackets for wearing in the car. They have ski jackets used to play outside in the snow. And then they each have a light weight wind breaker jacket that also repels moisture though not a true rain coat.
I have a jacket problem. And we are in SoCal. Lol. He prob has 6-7. Cargo, windbreaker, puffy, rain jacket, all purpose winter jacket, sporty one, etc. ahhhhh.
We are also Canadian and need a variety, and being in Alberta, sometimes you all of them in the same day. We have ones for all seasons, then we double that because we have chore/play jackets and ones that are for going to town/school.

They each have a dress jacket, a fleece, a quilted jacket and two snow suits (one home, one daycare) and dd1 also has a windbreaker that sort of repels water.
We are also in Canada and have the Children's Place 3-in-1 (which I find really does work year-round), plus one extra hand-me-down winter jacket/snowpants combo for playing in the show, and one additional Thomas Spring jacket that my mom picked up from Value Village because she couldn't resist.
Each kid: 1 good winter coat, 1 barn winter coat, 1 fall flannel coat, rain jacket, good spring jacket, barn spring jacket plus about 5 extras for when others are in the wash. We have a ton of outdoor gear

In contrast, my kid has zero sweaters (but one sweater dress), zero cardigans, and maybe 3-4 long sleeved shirts. Three coats doesn't seem excessive based on that.
Lands end 3 in 1 coats. They where them together most of the winter and the fleece in the spring and fall. Neither one has a jacket or rain coat right now...I keep debating one. but the fleece works for that temp and we use umbrellas. They each have a pair of snow pants.
I don't really count hoodies or sweatshirts as outerwear. Tons of cardigans that the use for layering, also not outerwear.
DD has 4. 3 are hand me downs and mostly just "fashion" coats. She has one warm 2 in one coat. DS has 2 but always wants to wear dd's stuff. He rocked her old pink carhartt most of the winter.
Generally mine just have two each, but I could easily see 3 or maybe even 4.
Mine each have a fleece and a heavy winter coat, plus separate snow pants. The one-year-old just has a snowsuit. I could easily see also having rain coats, but we don't, or a dress coat maybe. DD2 also has a cute fake furry white coat that was a hand-me-down. She wore it for Christmas and some winter parties.

DD has 4 hoodies. Oops. But one is from her flamingo Halloween costume. She also has one very warm coat, one fleece lined rain coat, and a dressy coat.
DS has 2 hoodies, a 3-in-1 winter coat, a rain coat, a fleece coat, and a handful of sweaters.
The majority of their coats are handmedowns, and when I do buy their winter coats I buy big enough to get two years out of them because they don't wear them that often here.

No coats or real jackets here (yay SoCal, the land of the 90 degree winter) but all of my kids end up with an obscene number of fleeces and warmup jackets, mostly purchased by my mom.
I don't even know. Haha. Obviously a winter coat and a few fleeces, a wind breaker or 2 each, plus a rain coat for my youngest. Probably even have more. I get hand me downs and buy so we have lots.

Too many...I have a problem with buying ones in bigger sizes way before they outgrow the ones they are wearing. They each have a winter coat (plus one in the closet for when they outgrow it), a few light weight jackets, a rain coat, and a bunch of sweatshirts they wear as jackets.
