Looks like the first results are coming in from today's elections, and Cruz is on track to win Kansas by 25 percent. Whaa? I didn't see that coming! Now I'm even more curious to see what happens in Kentucky and Maine.
I guess it's a sign that the "Stop Trump" movement might succeed in keeping him from reaching 1237 delegates. I'm not sure Cruz could mathematically reach that threshold. Every non-Trump victory increases the chances of a contested convention.

CNN says that it's unlikely Cruz will be able to reach the threshold, but it's good for the brokered convention. I think Kasich and Rubio need to do their part in Ohio and Florida.
I don't know about the context behind the Trump photo, but there have been a few accounts that people attending his rallies have been asked if they support Trump before being allowed entry. If they say no, they're turned away.

Yeah, these are proportional states, but significant because it blunts momentum.
I never thought there'd be a day where Cruz was not the worst candidate.

He is pretty terrible. He's talking on CNN right now. His voice is so grating.

I'm not even sure I care about the context of the photo. It's a fucking frightening image.

Here's a slate article on the "pledge" with more photos. Some of these people really don't look like they're "just" raising their hands, especially in the first photo.

It's the taking of a pledge that I find most worrisome. Swearing allegiance to Drumpf.

I really don't care about the context either, because there are so many other parallels to Hitler, the photo is just a visual reminder of it.
Santorum won Kansas in 2008 (12?) There is a pretty heavy evangelical population there. So unless Cruz picks up a few more, I'm not taking this as a sign that he is the new leader.
As much as I loathe Trump I feel like Hillary has zero chance of losing to him. Cruz or anyone that might come out of a convention scare me more.

Amen. Of all the cast of clowns, Cruz scares me the most.

See, I think it's the opposite. I think Cruz's appeal is so narrow that he'll get destroyed due to the electoral college, whereas Trump appeals to a lot of democrats, and could easily take PA and OH.

I agree. It's the same math that will be working against him as the primary continues. He did better than expected in Kansas but was expected to do well/win, and is looking all right currently. But his appeal is pretty narrow, and there are a lot of states he isn't as competitive in coming up.

I would like to say I hope not, after that photo that smock posted above.
But recent news/results make me question my fellow Americans.
