My daughter is Lydia, and Margot is another one of my very favorites. I also like Ruby a lot. Ramona, I have a hard time with. Just weird pop culture associations, I think.
Overall though, love them, and sounds like you'll pick something awesome regardless.
It reminds me of the books I read when I was a kid - Ramona the Pest
I like Ruby and Lydia. Margot is just ok to me. I wouldn't be weirded out if I were your friend.
I love Margot and I love alliteration. I was fighting SO HARD for Greta and our last name is 2 syllables and starts with G. It would have been so damn cute.
Another question- a good friend has a daughter named Marlo. I feel like a weirdo copycat with Margot. But I really love that name. Would you feel weird if you were my friend.
But Margot isn't Marlo.
So it isn't copying.
For the record, my friend from college named her just-born daughter my daughter's name. She messaged me months ago about her plan, and I was flattered that she even asked.
Because, really, who cares? Who is anybody to say you can't name your kid whatever you want?
Of yours: Margot (and if this is your favorite, DO IT) Lydia
Of suggestions here: Helena Roslyn Beatrix Simone (this was my #2 contender for O if he'd been a girl. #1 was Willa, but I don't love it with your last name)
I think this name is blowing up among stylish people. I've seen it on a lot of people's lists, and I have a couple friends IRL considering it. Which makes me sad. The same thing happened with my boys' names just after I named them. So basically, if I love a name, it's about to get really trendy. Lol.
Other current loves: Beatrix, Juliet, Adelaide, Cecily, Gemma, Helena, Louisa
