Batman v Superman' isn't getting great reviews — but everyone loves 'Sad Affleck'
The first reviews are out for the highly anticipated "Batman v Superman," and they aren't very good. One of them goes so far as to call it the "'Showgirls' of superhero films." When asked about the critics' response to the film in a recent interview with Yahoo Movies UK, Ben Affleck look really, really sad. And thus a meme was born.
I read a review that said it was a 2 hour teaser trailer for the DC universe. DC wants to be Marvel but they just aren't. #makeminemarvel Only 41 days #teamcap
I fucking hated this movie, and I rarely have such strong feelings about movies. It was terrible. Awful. Hated it from beginning to end.
The video did make me laugh, though.
Can you share WHY you hated it so much? I'm not too concerned about spoilers (I'll be seeing it more to satisfy DH's need to see it than mine), but others might be... But you seem to really hate it.

I HATED IT. Ok, I'll try to recount a few reasons why. And I'll leave out spoilers.
1. My hatred really comes down to poor storytelling. It's so incredibly choppy. They're trying to make a big, complex plot without doing the work of providing any context. It bandies back and forth between BM and SM stories in vignettes without tying scenes together. It feels unfinished. 2. Re: Wonder Woman. She exists to wear pretty dresses. You know who she's supposed to be, but she's isn't part of the plot at all. She's literally a clothes hanger for like 3 scenes. Then in the final battle (which was about 40 minutes, btw), they finally put her in without any explanation really of why she's there. Justice League yay? 3. Lazy dialogue. When WW shows up, SM says, "is she with you?" BM replies "I thought she was with you." LITERALLY 5 MINUTES AFTER BRUCE WAYNE E-MAILS HER VERY RELEVANT INFORMATION. YOU INVITED HER. Also, the thing that ends the BM-SM feud. I won't spoil it, but it was not at all compelling.
It tried to be dark like the Chris Nolan Batmans, but it didn't have the acting or storytelling to back that up.

See, this sums up why I don't like all these dark super hero movies lately. Trying to be all badass without the story/acting/context to back it up. And a 40-minute fight/battle scene? UGH.
Well, I won't waste our rare date night on this, then. H can go see it by himself if he really wants to and I'll wait for it to come out on Redbox. I think we'll see Deadpool. Maybe we can squeeze another date night out when the new X-Men (SQUEEEE!) movie comes out in May.

Ya know? For advancement of the Batman story, newp. But for fun? Yeah, it was fun. And I am realllllllly hoping for a Wonder Woman movie.
It's supposed to be coming out in June 2017. I feel like I have to go see that one even if it's terrible just to show Hollywood that female superhero movies can draw audiences.
